Are they good on snow (as opposed to ice)?** A: I purchased my mountain climbing cleats over five years ago. Throws ladies 9.5 size will fit any type of shoe. I have taken on black eyes, regular eyes, snow, packed snow, any type of slippery, frozen water that you would normally bust your butt on LOL. They were a champ. ! I purchased an orange colored pair, and they have held up all these years as if they were brand new. The 1 inch ice, climbing cleats, the spikes do not bend, nor does the chains rust, no rust anywhere. They were the best investment I had ever Botton from any place. They come in this little black bag which I need a new one because my zipper broke on that. Other than that on a scale of 1 to 10 I would have to give them a 10+. They are very well worth the money and someday I will buy another pair , five years I’ve had them now if they come out in a different color like purple blue, etc. etc. I will get a purple pair. I highly recommend these mountain climbing cleats and if they don’t work I will purchase them for you that’s how much I believe in them , and trust them. I remember they came fast in the mail. The seller was very courteous. Any word of warning! After placing them on your shoe, boot, whatever where are you going to use, I advise you not to walk on tile because it will leave little holes and spike marks also on wooden areas it will leave a little hole indentations. You can either put them on your shoe before you put them on your foot or you can put them on after you put your boot or shoot one. I know this is long but I want you to have a good experience as I have with these. I highly recommend them you can not go wrong. Again, these are 1 inch mountain climbing cleats. It has a silver heel with cleats on it and up on the soul part. It’s flat with cleats on it. Get them while you can. I hope this helps somebody. **Q: What are the velcro straps for?** A: They help to keep them in place on the boot and lessen the chance they will fall off. I found lost ones without the straps on hiking trails.
