Tunes smoothly and makes changing strings a breeze!
First, a word of warning so you don't make the same mistake I did. The mounting screws on the tuner I got are side-set, not center-set as it appears on the picture. The mini equivalent (chrome) have a center-set mount. I have since put these tuners on another guitar and am very satisfied. My advice is to contact the seller to make sure you get the properly positioned mounting holes for your guitar.I perform a lot and break strings pretty frequently. Additionally, my music requires a lot of retuning to alternate tunings, so I need a reliable, smooth action tuner that makes replacing strings quick and easy so I can play long and hard into the night. Most stock tuners simply don't cut it. The Grover 106's do. They are smooth and consistent in all playable tensions, and keep the strings in tune once they (the string) are properly stretched and broken-in. I break strings less frequently now, and when I do, changing them takes very little time, even without a string winder. As a testament to the Grover's ability to lock, I've put a set of their locking machine heads on a guitar with neck that folds over (look-up Voyage Air guitars). In other words, the tuners are expected to lock the strings without ANY tension. When I reassemble the guitar (bring the neck back into tension) the strings stay in place and even stay mostly in tune!I've been using 106's for over a year now, and they've been very reliable. Nothing's come loose or needed much adjustment. Very set-and-forget. Installation was easy and no-nonsense. Though I didn't have to do any drilling, as always, check the measurements on the headstock holes to make sure the tuners aren't too big/small. For the active musician who wants a stage setup that can restring at a moment's notice, these are the tuners to get since they don't require the multi-coil winding that standard tuners do.

Poor quality metal used.
All of the heads of the back screws stripped because the metal was so weak. Also, I was using the same amount of torque, on all of the grommets, and one of them broke. If I can't find a replacement grommet, I will have to hacksaw the screw heads in order to remove the tuners. I am very disappointed with the metal quality of these tuners.

These are amazing tuners
These are amazing tuners. Though I wish I read the description better as these are intended for Les Paul style head stocks. I intended on using these for my JS signature only to realize they will not work for this guitar.Once I receive another LP I'll be "murdering" it out

Stays in tune
These replaced non-locking Grovers in my Les Pauls so it fit perfectly right out of the box. Most important criteria for a tuner is whether they keep your strings in tune and the answer is yes. They are smooth and do a good job keeping it in tune.I didn't give it 5 stars because they're not that much faster than regular tuners but cost more. It has inner and outer pegs that have to be positioned just right which takes extra time. So by the time you get it set correctly, it's just as fast to use a peg-winder on regular tuners.Overall I'm happy with them but not blown away considering the extra cost.

Bad quality.
So my first problem was it was a direct figment for my 16 Gibson lespaul second was it snapped strings so easily during install and third it made out of bad material that if the string didn’t snap then the locking material will.

Well made and useful.
Great tuners. They grip the strings tightly and can even cut them once tight enough. Fit my Schecter C-1 perfectly.

The best
After getting a guitar that came with Grovers stock, ages ago, I was on a mission to convert some of my guitar projects as well. I put these on a Dean with SD JB/Jazz set and they're pretty awesome. Very rarely goes out of tune (I don't have to tune before playing every time anymore). The string locking mechanism is ingenious, much better than their JB self locking type which I put on a tele. All their products are high quality and seem like they'll last forever. Lifetime guarantee is just a safety net, but they'll probably never fail on you.
