Marvelous all-around book!
This book really reaches inside you, and becomes a part of you. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. The Book of Secrets discusses everything simply enough for easy comprehending, while reaching deep down, to the core of things. It shows you meaning behind things; life, love, many religions, meditation, yoga, tantra, among so many others. I haven't even finished and I've fallen in love with this book. With the practices, I set foot on my own spiritual journey. I wish everyone the opportunity of finding the same immense pleasure I've found in reading this, and that you all can come to realize these basic techniques as something you should find time for each day. Let it move you. I've yet to find a book that can even compare, Osho is a delightful soul and I'm very happy with my purchase. Before I finished chapter 5, I had my first out-of-body experience. I found a technique suited for myself, and now the thought of it sounds easier than I could have ever imagined, since I know now that achieving these things- really looking inside yourself- isn't hard at all! I've always been interested in meditation though I've never "found the time" or took a few moments out of my day to practice. Now I have the pleasure of knowing every time I find myself in a comfortable position, I can just close my eyes, flee my thoughts or worries, and feel myself drift out of my physical structure... I lose sense of my body, it fades away, and I am still there. It's an unimagineable experience, that we as souls, captivating this body for the brief time we have it, should feel destined to explore. (Why not?) (What's stopping you?) Before reading a part of the book where Osho mentions seeing your thoughts as if watching a film strip in front of you, that had actually happened to me... When I read it afterwards my heart skipped a beat, this book is unbelievably eery in how accurate it is. You'll be head in the clouds, and flipping through pages before you know it. Wonderful for open-minded readers. I still have more to go, more to see, more to absorb, but I feel happy with just this. I could stop reading right now and I'd still be happy I ever started. This book is beyond breathtaking. But don't just take my word for it....

Creative imagination ideas! Use the INDEX don't read cover to cover!
This was originally five volumes of talks about various methods of snapping out of the general hypnotic dullness of our lives. I am delighted with the quality of this hard cover binding, the excellent index of each "technique" and the reformatting into double columns so the eye reads as easily as a magazine article. There is so much here, so well presented. Whoever did the design really made this huge amount of material very easy to jump into and out of, like using a dictionary. I'm amazed anybody is finding this "too much" as the introduction says to skip around like you would read a magazine, and to try random ideas and play with whatever interests you. Honestly some of the exercises remind me of things we used to do as bored children... most are creative imagination: Be aware in dreams Look lovingly at an object Look at your past disidentified Look into the limitless sky Acceptance Remember everything changes Imagine the unimaginable Do not fight with desire Change your focus to the gaps Become all beings The 112 techniques are each only one sentence... the commentary is probably excessive, but you only need to read commentary on things that interest you. I would really recommend these techniques for people who are trying to break down creative "blocks" and reach inspiration and imagination.

what book would you recommend? " There was a question on Quora that ...
"If you are allowed to read only 1 book in your entire life, what book would you recommend?" There was a question on Quora that got me thinking... the answer really depends on what you expect to get out of it. Most books mentioned in the Quora thread were trying to provide general truths or expose beliefs, some entertainment, some knowledge, some - help you in this aspect or the other. Also, consider that the person who is making the choice has read at least a couple hundred books in their lifetime…but imagine if you haven’t? Would you REALLY choose Agatha Christie or Sophie Kinsella? What do you really want out of your life? some basic job/entertainment ratio? Riches? Easy life with no drama? or, vice versa, big drama? imagine yourself BEFORE all those books you’ve read and all that wisdom you acquired…. what would you really want out of your life? How would you want to live it? This is just my perspective, and my ultimate wish in this life is liberation, thus the only book that I would want to read should be written by an enlightened master who has reached that state of being (ultimate liberation) already. The original text should be without edits (e.g., the Bible has lost a lot of wisdom over the centuries of re-writes and being played with), and should contain the actual technique, information on how to achieve what I strive to achieve, not just philosophical discourse that leads nowhere and only makes my mind believe that it gained some valuable knowledge or solved some temporary problem. So it should be a manual of sorts, a roadmap. I don’t need to learn the history of the world, or play with my intellect for ultimate liberation; nor do i need to get entertained. I need to be told what I need to do to reach the goal, by someone who has already reached that same goal. The Book Of Secrets by Osho is such a book. So far, I haven’t read any other book more valuable than this one, and I’m a bookworm. The general description of this book is wrong: it’s not just about tantra techniques; it contains meditation techniques from all the different paths to enlightenment from different mystery schools around the world - Osho’s biggest gift to humanity.

Totally unique book full of priceless wisdom for the spiritual seeker.
Anybody on the spiritual path should read this book. The definitive explanation and illustration of the entire 112 meditation techniques of Lord Shiva ever known to work with the human mind, plus those that will ever work with the future mind of mankind. These techniques are the core basis of many spiritual techniques/structures/practices used in all the religions that have existed and/or are in existence today. What's in here is gold, written by a contemporary fully enlightened Master. Do not miss it.

The Best book to Learn about Meditation Methods and the Theory of Tantra, Yoga, and Life in general.
If you are not aware of Osho this is as good a place to start as any. Osho is one of the most well studied in theology since the Buddha himself. If you are interested in self improvement or meditating this is the book for you or anyone simply curious about yoga. meditation, or union with life and the cosmos. Highly recommend-Great book!

read with extreme caution
i have taken the vigyan bhairava course done by Art of living founder sri sri ravi shankar. after i got introduced to this wonderful book, i became obsessed with the techniques and that's when i bought this book this book is written in a very unstructured manner, which in a way is not bad as it tries to give a sense of verbal teaching. Osho is very precise on his explanations and you will certainly find lot of depth there But having said that there is a caution, techniques like this are best understood when the guru is in front of you. sometimes the book becomes very overwhelming and i personally had great trouble understanding some parts. if you don't have any prior mediation expereince , i would not recommend this book

Best Yet on Subject !
I've been hanging out with this book for more than 10 years now. Along with Krishnamurti and Erhart Tolle and a few other writers I've found all of theses people say the same thing, and that is, you are not your thoughts or emotions and to see reality, which is"what is" you need to be out of the picture all-together. What you think filters what is really going on. Your really seeing a distorted version of "what is really happening" by your memory or past experiences so you interpreting the now from the past. So how can you live an honest real life if its all an illusion of your mind. Well theses Guys talk about it as best anyone can that Ive found yet. At 70 years old I finally am able to maintain a pretty good balance of "now" and illusion. I'm not completely free of my mind aberrations but through practice I'm getting closer. Although they all say Its a instantaneous all at once experience, not gradual, I've found you need to read about it first so you have a example of what to look for then by understanding this information you are able to identify the unknown territory a little better. We all can reach so called Enlightenment, it not really a big deal. On a daily basis we all experience some sort of clarity of reality or Enlightenment in some form we just have never been given example of what that looks or feels like. These writer give us those maps to explore with and for that I'm Grateful to be able to understand what their saying. This stuff is for people who hear the message. Others will probably think its just more mystical dogma. Your ready when your ready and don't kill the messenger before you study the message. This is all you need to find what your looking for, real or unreal the truth will shine through it all. You just have to clear your mind of ego and self to see who you really are and Bagwan (Osho) is the main Man! Chap 35-38 is a good place to start......Good Luck !

Deep and fulfilling book to read!!
Tbh, I used to think Osho was some fruitcake guy who worships sex. I remember watching 60 Minutes here in Oz when they first had Osho and his commune in the US. I wasn’t impressed. But things changed and have miraculously since 2019. About 3 years ago, my wife and I attended a Tantric Sex Retreat for Couples only that ran for a week. Man, that literally changed our lives!! Our minds were stretched into oblivion that we could not be the same again. We healed each other, had many revelations and Alchemy experiences, it was extraordinary. Since then I have been researching and reading ancient texts on Tantra. One day, I was researching something about Tantra. I saw this link on ‘Osho’ and ’Tantra’. Because of the change that has happened in me, I decided to click on the link. And was I surprised!! I found this 10 chapter treatise on Tantra by Osho. Each chapter was quite lengthy. All I know at some stage of reading those 10 chapters, I felt such peace and stillness that I have never felt before. Which then made me revisit with new eyes and a fresh perspective and watched a few documentaries on Netflix about Osho. Because of the stillness and peace I had experienced, I saw Osho from a different perspective, and still do to this day. When I found out about ‘The Book of Secrets’ by Osho, I first read the negative comments, ALL the way to the positive comments. All of them! I deduced that the book was certainly in my best interests to purchase. Sure the book was advertised with a CD, but there wasn’t a CD. That to me was immaterial. It was the information within the book that I was after, rather than a CD or DVD… Also I have ordered which still I am waiting it to be delivered to me by Amazon, the ‘The Secret of Secrets’ by Osho. I am reading atm The Book of Secrets, and truly, I am in heaven reading it and fully content!! I am taking it slowly too. So far what Osho has said on Tantra, my wife and I can wholeheartedly relate to what Osho says about Tantra. Depending on your life’s journey, whether you are at the same vibration to receive Osho; I wholeheartedly recommend this book. The book arrived to me in perfect condition and is better constructed than the first run of the book, gathering from people’s experiences from buying the first edition. This is the ‘New & Revised Edition’ which is better. Super happy & content with my purchase, and thank you Amazon for making it available to purchase, and the speedy delivery to my home.

Deep Wisdom!
I just started reading it and man I can't express it words how full of wisdom it is. But there is a thing to be aware about.....if you are not into this kind of stuff or doesn't understand the complex English sentences well....try to work on them first. Rest all... A great book for seekers and a reliable guide for meditation! Thanks
