Works perfect
I have seen some of the reviews that show a lot of movement where the pitcher is housed. Looks like flimsy base. What I have learned by using this product for months now. Yes, there is a lot of movement where the pitcher is placed. However, no matter where the pitcher is placed on the base, the pitcher lid is designed at an angle, so it will always drip into the pitcher. I have not had any issues. If you want a true high quality product, you are going to need to pay a helluva lot more. We use this product every other day. One thing we do after each use, is turn the machine over into the sink and slightly shake any excess water (there is usually a little bit of water left in the reservoir) to help dry out machine. We always keep the machine unplugged. We also position the percolator arm to the back, so that the lid lays on it and stays open for a few hours to dry out. Machine has been well worth it to us. We have zero complaints about this inexpensive option. I rather enjoy this machine, we don't use ice during the brewing, we double brew basically to the top of the pitcher (let it cool, while cooling I transfer all my teabags into the pitcher to steep for extra 30 mins) and then add cold water to fill our other gallon pitcher to the top and refrigerate, then we add ice into the glasses. Fun tidbit of information is when I double brew, I put 10 regular size green tea bags into the filter (for my gallon pitcher) and 4 or 5 country peach tea bags (from celestial seasonings) and it makes yummy peach tea!! Have fun!!!

easy to use and does a great job. I hate plastics but this will do.
Works great and a good price. I don't put all the ice in it that it requires. I brew the tea, add it to a pitcher of cold water and let it get cold for a while.

Decent for making iced tea, but not perfect.
Overall I like this device for making iced tea. Here are my pros and cons ... PROS: Seems to be well made, and is easy to use. Adjustable strength control a plus Water level gauge is a nice plus. Built-in filter is greener, saving placing of disposable filters in your garbage Relatively fast CONS: Built-in filter does leave some residue in the bottom of the pitcher. I don't know if this is normal for this type of filter. The same lid is used for both brewing and storage. I don't like that the storage lid has a hole in the top for the brewing function. The lid doesn't fit tightly. When you get towards the bottom of the pitcher, the lid slides off when pouring.

Beats The Pants Off Other Ice Tea Makers I've Tried
This ice tea maker deserves five stars if only for the plastic pitcher. It doesn't crack, it's dish washer safe, and tea doesn't stain it. Following directions will give you only about 2/3 or so of a full pitcher. I guess that's for adding oranges or whatever. There is no problem adding more ice above the fill line. That'll give you a few more cups so a pitcher lasts a bit longer. Do *not* remove the pitcher as soon as the power light goes off. Hot tea continues to dribble into the pitcher for a minute or so. The brew cycle takes about 11 minutes. I like to sweeten my tea. So I add a coffee filter to the basket (not the basket with the metal filter), add sugar, and then four or five family size tea bags. Yeah, I like strong tea. I've used this for a couple months now and am a happy camper. Highly recommended.

Buy more than one...
We have used this tea maker to make iced green tea with dried loose tea leaves multiple times a day (we go through light a gallon a day for the household). It's a total workhorse. Easy to clean (mostly). Don't worry about filling it with ice unless you need the tea "right now". Otherwise, fill an entire pitcher almost to the brim with tap or filtered water. Pour slightly more than the line indicates to max fill on the machine (like 1/2"). Use a plastic scoop of some sort that measures approximately 1/4 cup and loosely spread the leaves across the whole filter. Can also use 5 or 6 tea bags (or less if you like weaker tea) instead of the loose leaf. Originally my machine broke after only a short period (something defective about the on switch) where it just wouldn't turn on anymore. I contacted the company and they replaced it and didn't even ask me to send back the defective unit. I only wish I could buy the pitchers by themselves! Sometimes I want to make more than one type of tea. Also, they get stained after only a short while and it would be nice to have a clean one. I have now bought another one and it is just locked in my storage closet in case this one ever breaks or the pitcher does.
