My Pioneer receiver is probably 15 years old. The remotes volume buttons flaked out a couple of years ago. I rigged it so that UP volume worked, but not DOWN. The up button finally stopped and I did a search to see if I could even find a new one. I ordered this one and it arrived really quick. Put in the new batteries and this thing works like a charm. I cant believe that someone made a remote that works right out of the box for a 15+ year old receiver. I am so very satisfied with this purchase. The buttons are identical, and now I dont have to get off my lazy butt to turn the volume up and down any more.

Works as it should on my older Pioneer AV reciever. Let's you adjust all those settings you can't get to with the few buttons they give you on the unit itself.

The remote works fine to operate the Pioneer receiver, but it did not come with any instructions that would make it easier to use some of the special features of the receiver. It is capable of operating your TV but without the instructions you can't use it for that. Also to properly adjust the volume of each speaker you need the instructions. Otherwise, it does work, but I wish it work have come with an instruction sheet of some sort.

Point and silent click

The remote control for my Pioneer receiver decided to not work on some of the buttons. Decided to give this a try and it worked like a rockstar! Only difference is the buttons are white. Put the batteries and boom it worked just like the original.

Worked with vsx-821 perfectly but would not go into program mode to pair with other devices (tv, dvd, etc) like the original

A couple buttons are not compatible with my sound system pioneer unit. However , there is a button that let's you scroll to the different modes of my unit. The remote sensor is much better than the original. This remote communicates with my unit instantly. No delay. It is a good remote control.

This remote lists Pioneer model VSX-522-K as one of the Home Theater AV Receiver System it fits. Some of the functions work if you can find the right button, but the input selector buttons like SAT/CBL, Game, Video1, Video2, and Phase are missing or not in the same position. BD and DVD are the only two buttons in the same position as on the OEM remote. So far I've spent large parts of two days trying to figure out which buttons do what. I'm not returning this remote because the power and volume controls work and was less than $10, but as far as the other functions go it is only slightly better than not having a remote.
