Perfect, exactly what I needed
I needed a Pomona 5250 to flash my Thinkpad X220 with coreboot and get rid of the Intel Management Engine (backdoor) and this clip helped me do just that! I can't say whether or not the off-brand Chinese versions of this clip work well (I know they're much cheaper) but I wanted to ensure that everything would go smoothly so I got this clip, hooked it up to my raspberry pi, followed one of the guides on how to coreboot the X220 online, and, as I said before, it worked out great!

Makes Contact, Tricky to Keep Attached
Bought this after expensive 3M version made terrible contact. The Pomona doesn't have the spring force of the 3M, and is harder to keep in place. But it does actually work.

Quality clips with ridiculous price.
I will happily give 5 stars if the price gouging with the brand name. Same material and quality would be a lot less if it is branded different. Anyway, the Pomona clips are really reliable and work well for me. Programming SOIC chips is done very seldom but still need it for some old school devices.

It did what it was supposed to do.
It worked with my first try. You, however, have to buy cables to connect it to the programmer. I previously bought a different 12 dollar brand which did not work at all. This has a much better design to make it clamp properly to the chip.

As long as great care is taken in excess of what should be ...
I got this to clip on to my bios chip so I could flash coreboot with a raspberry pi. It's able to do its job, but only after much difficulty because it doesn't sit straight on the chips and applies so much pressure that it slides and snaps off with the slightest bump, sometimes even if blown on. As long as great care is taken in excess of what should be taken, this will work. I still recommended it, if only because I'm aware of no better alternatives.

Works where other clips didn't
Other clips slid off the PCB mounted IC that we were working with but this one did not.

Actually grips the chip
This is amazing compared to the cheaper black one. It can actually grip a soic8 whereas the other one would shoot off like a spring. The key is the holes in the sides where you can see the contacts. This allows it to actually grip the chip unlike the other one that basically grips the pins which are generally not 90 degrees. I love it, would buy again, completely regret the cheap black one.
