Not bad at all.
Not to bad, very good directions. The wiring hook up might get a little tricky if your upgrading a fairly older thermostat but is still doable as it list all the abbriviations and letterings that might be used and provides labels to attach to the wires. Couple draw backs is it does not show the current set temperture, have to press the up/down arrow to see the set temperture. Have hold the arrow for 1.5 seconds to adjust the set temperture which is kind of a hassle when you just want to check it and not change it. When programming it, have to go threw the entire program to get to the one you want to change. Say you to change program 3 for Sunday, you have to go all the way threw the 4 sets for M-F then threw the 4 sets for Saturday just to get to Sunday. You can't just skip M-S and go to Sunday. All are minor but aggrivating the first week or two when your tweaking the settings if you never had a programmable in the first place or your old did not function in this manner.

Very good unit; feels a little flimsy.
I recently moved and wanted to upgrade my thermostat to a programmable model. I just have a mili-volt system wall heater and didn't need much advanced functionality, so I picked up this unit based on all the great reviews.Well so far it has worked great, as advertised! It's only been a month, but I'm happy with its functionality so far.The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is that it feels a little flimsy: it moves around a little bit when I push the buttons, especially the temp Up and Down buttons, which are located on the top-right corner of the unit. This is probably because it's held on to the wall with only two screws, in the center of the unit, and it's not completely flat in the back (for style purposes). In this regard, I guess you get what you pay for.But as for function, I couldn't be happier! I appreciate the IndiGlo display, too.

Replaced older non-programmable thermostat.
The Hunter thermostat was purchased to replace an old-fashioned non-programmable thermostat (you know the ones that have a sliding lever to set the temp with a switch on the side to select Cool, Heat, or Off) and I'm glad I did. The package comes with easy to follow directions and stickers to mark the wires. I made the mistake of quickly glancing over the directions and going straight for the installation. The stickers would have made the installation much easier. (Note: If you do purchase this, take advantage of the stickers to mark your wires, unless you're an HVAC pro.)The ability to program the A/C to take advantage of cheaper electricity rates in the mornings and late evenings is a plus. Programming was easy and it's also easy to set up a vacation schedule, to keep your place from using the A/C while you're gone. The Indiglo display also helps. I have mine installed in a hallway and not needing to turn on a light to make adjustments is also a plus. It's a great product, at a great price. Much less expensive than what I was able to find at my local Home Depot, Lowes or Wal-Mart.

Inexpensive Way to Control Your Environment
I was annoyed at the fact that my apartment used an ancient, mercury filled, thermostat so I decided to get an upgrade. This is just what i needed. The price is decent and the control you get is very good, not as good as the Nest or any of the "smart" thermostats out there now. But it's more than enough for me.Took about 30 minutes to install (first thermostat I've ever installed) so your mileage may vary. You can cut down on install time by finding out what kind of furnace/heat source you have before hand (propane/natural gas).I have the temp set so it cools down every night, recovers 30 minutes before I get up, cools back down 20 minutes after I leave for work (Monday-Friday). Then I have a separate set of commands for the weekends. It took about 5 minutes to input my schedule. This is a great inexpensive alternative to old school dial thermostats, that gives you a good amount of options for custom climate control.

Simple to use!
Great for the working person. I would highly recommend this thermostat if you love waking to a warm house. I have it set to come on for an hour before the alarm goes on, and off right after I get out of the shower. Great money saver since I used to leave the heat on higher all night not to wake cold. It was easy to install. My boyfriend did it, but had it completed in minutes. Only draw back is, it's programmable for Monday thru Friday. Not sure why I can't get Saturday and Sunday to show since the instruction book show it. Since I'm there to manually adjust on the weekend, it's not the much of an issue.

A Thermostat Only Has One Job...
I've had this for about 4 years now. I really liked it at first because it's less expensive than most but there's more to consider than the price. As far as setting the controls, it works OK and we use the programmable features to save money on utilities. It's pretty straight forward to set the programs. I may have had to use the directions at first but I can change the settings now without even thinking about the process, it's pretty easy... The one thing I don't like is that although we have the thermostat set to hold the temperature as close to the set temperature as possible, it still allows temperature swings that leave you uncomfortable. Example: If I have the A/C temp set at 71 degrees, it will often get uncomfortably hot before it kicks the A/C on. Then, it runs a bit too long before it shuts off, making my wife say, and I quote "will that thing ever shut off!"Other than the temperature swings during both Heat mode and A/C, it works very well, but then again, a thermostat only has one job, to control the temperature... When it's not doing that very well, It may be time to go shopping...

Inexpensive digital thermostat with a surprising number of features for the price. We were looking for a cheap alternative to our analog thermostat, and this was it. Nothing fancy, just precise, programmable temperature control. Saved a few dollars on the power bill as well. Paid for itself in one month. I call that a deal.
