Finicky to attach but good for the price.
A little finicky to attach to my lens but overall great for the price. It gave good protection for when I was taking photos in a very sunny area but I do wish it was a bit longer since it is kinda short.

Very nice if but specific
There's no better tool for a job than the tool that was purposely built specifically for that job. The bayonet attachment style is very handy. A locking lug would've been even better, but the lens that this is made for isn't terribly bulky to begin with. It locks into place and is easy to store when inverted into the threads and packed into a carrying case.

Very loose on the 18-55
I ordered this lens hood for my 18-55 as well as a separate lens hood for my 70-300. The hood for my 70-300 fit perfectly and even locks in place, but the hood for the 18-55 left quite a bit to be desired as it was very loose. After some delicate adjusting I got it to sit well enough to use for short periods of time, but the slightest bump would jar it loose. I'll keep it strictly because of the price and the fact that I use my larger lenses more frequently, but I wouldn't keep it if this were my primary lens. If the lens hood fit properly, however, this would be a 5 star review as it is great quality for the price and I love the hood that I purchased for my 70-300.

You get what you pay for
It can be rather frustrating when you install it the first time but you should be ok once you figure it out. I am giving it 4 stars since it is quite cheap, functional and very light due to the quality of the plastic.
