This program reveals the discoveries of a forgotten genius, many of which went virtually unnoticed for nearly a century. Nikola Tesla is considered the father of our modern technological age and one of the most mysterious and controversial scientists in history. How did this obscure visionary from what is now Yugoslavia lay the foundation for modern communications and energy research? Nikola Teslas contributions to science and technology include the invention of radio, television, radio-astronomy, remote control and robotics, radar, medical x-ray and the wireless transmission of electricity. Many of Nikola Teslas inventions were and in some cases still are considered a little too revolutionary by government agencies and the power brokers of the time and are discussed in detail in this program. Encyclopedia Britannica lists Nikola Tesla as one of the top ten most fascinating people in history. So why is he virtually unknown to the general public? This program is a penetrating study of the life and mind of a "scientific superman" who, against all odds, dedicated his life to the task of designing and improving technology for the service and advancement of humanity.

Good Examples and Facts but TERRIBLE Production
This has the worst production values I've seen on a Prime streaming video. It looks like a VHS tape which was played and then filmed from the an old tube TV. Terrible quality xerox or thermal copies are held up by the fingers. Video clips are barely recognizable. Awful, computer sounding narrator. The only saving grace that kept me watching was the curator of the Tesla Museum demonstrating many of his inventions. This was a nice discussion I haven't seen anywhere, but you have to endure this otherwise terrible film to see it. Surely this information is presented elsewhere. If not, just read a book about Tesla, an extraordinary man. But not extraordinary enough to falsely rate terrible videos 5stars.

Is this a pirated copy?
Given that the movie is barely 3 years old (and yes it contains archival footage) the quality makes it unteachable. Even the leading shot of Niagara Falls looks like from 3 times copied VHS tape.

One of the brighest and kindess people to walk this ...
One of the brighest and kindess people to walk this planet. His work inventing our electrical systems freed us from daily routine physical labor. Ironically, on his death our government raided his lab and stole his secrets and inventions. They are now using those to destroy the planet and most of us.

Well worth the watch!
Great video about the man that enabled virtually everything to be created / invented after 1891. If he had not lived, you wouldn't be reading this review.

Not a movie.
Thought we rented a movie. It's a slide show in less than standard definition. Dumb.

Nikola Tesla.
So glad the truth about Nikola Tesla is being told. I sure hope the schools are teaching the correct history now. I never learned the truth about Tesla when I went ot school.

wrong info
DVD is informative-documentary about Nikola Tesla, his inventions and his museum in Belgrade.Actors Rade Serbedija, Svetlana Bojkovic...are not there. That is different DVD. I was hoping to see the film about Nikola Tesla with those actors, but this DVD is not what I ordered.

Informative, but very amateur
The DVD was informative, but I think the budget to produce it must have been somewhere between $1.00 and $3.50. The opening scene just about made my jaw hit the floor it was so terrible.
