I absolutely love gifting the book "Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late" for baby showers when I'm putting together a first library. It's such a heartwarming story that sparks the imagination and brings joy to both children and parents alike. It's definitely a must-have addition to any little one's book collection, and I'm always thrilled to see it make the cut.

Love listening to my 5 year old grandson read and giggle at these books!

Mo Willems is on to something. His fun, charming, and completely silly characters are just wonderful for little kids (and adults too!!). It is really too bad that bookstores are not as available as they used to be-- I used to stop into one to see what was new, and then come to Amazon... So, I'm a bit behind on the Pigeon series.My preschool child LOVES LOVES LOVES these books. No only do I get to play the 'child' and get the 'adult' answers from my kid-- he is starting to *read* this himself! (As opposed to reciting it, as he's done with favorite books since he was very very small.) Now that he has something to engage from an 'older' or authority perspective, discussions with him about behavior are for him, more concrete and he can see how meltdowns look to other people. He is becoming more aware of how having a meltdown is NOT going to change an answer-- and switching his focus to Pigeon help end his much sooner and get him back to a better place for listening and behaving well.Thank you, Mr. Willems. Your Pigeon and Elephant & Piggy are making the world a happier, sometimes more self-aware place!

Don't be left out on the sidewalk or on your local inner-city equestrian statue...just don't be left out! The Pigeon books are always great fun. Pigeon returns to make more demands, while "the man" is always keeping him down. Mo Willems creator of "DON'T LET THE PIGEON DRIVE THE BUS," "PIGEON FINDS A HOT DOG" and " Knuffle BUNNY" does it again!Willems combines his flair for simplistic childlike design, with the preschooler's stubbornness via the PIGEON. The Pigeon demands and fumes building to a crescendo, upon which his delivers his obligatory RANT, the climax of the Pigeon Book formula (see the aforementioned books). This "Pigeon" pattern provides satisfactory continuity for preschool listeners and early readers.I highly recommend ANY of the PIGEON books! My children insist on so many re-readings they could easily deliver performances of the stories without the books. Willems clearly connects to the young through this determined character, in a manner that rivals Dr. Seuss himself, without the flowery faux words (no offense Doc, you know I luv ya). As it is with all great children's books the reader can easily see themselves in the PIGEON.Even a cameo by Knuffle Bunny!

My grandson loves the pigeon book series. He could not find the series at his school library and was so upset. I found the books on Amazon and send him one every week or so. He's so excited to get the books in the mail addressed to him! I also purchased the stuffed Pigeon for his 7th birthday along with the Pigeon blanket and more Pigeon books. He loves them and is excited to see what the Pigeon does next with it's Pigeon attitude!

Love these books. My 6 year old started reading them in school and when I noticed him reading along during homeschooling, and having fun doing so, I ended up getting him 3 different ones for his birthday. AND he was actually excited to open a book as a present! (Wow!!!)Great set of books. Love the stories and the format! And my 6 year old can almost read them all the way through without a huge struggle.Great beginning reader book.
