Brass & Bamboo / Accent on

A two-fer. Never heard of Tak Shindo before - but he was recommended by some friends from the Retro Cocktail Hour. I am glad I listened to them and purchased this. Two of his albums, from 1959 and 1960. The transfer to digital is incredible - superb fidelity.The enclosed booklet gives a history of Tak Shindo. Quite an interesting man. I will certainly see if any more of his music is going to be released on CD.If you are a fan of Exotica, then you really need to have this in your collection. His version of Bali Ha'i, Flamingo and Love is a Many Splendored Thing is worth the purchase price. But there are 24 songs here and every one is a keeper. Brass and Bamboo is one of my favorites as well as his rendition of Chattanooga Choo Choo.So go ahead and treat yourself to some great Exotica - you will not be disappointed.

A great two-for-one album. This was my first taste of Tak Shindo and it was a wonderful surprise. You can relax to it, you can dance to it, you can pretty much do whatever the heck you want to but just make sure you snatch it up while you can.

Both albums in STEREO with excellent sound in cardboard flip case. Complete with CD size original album covers. If you`renot familiar with Tak Shindo, this is the album to win you over.

Great Cd

All I can say is thank you for your Big Brother marketing Amazon. What an awesome album. It takes exotica from the jungle to the Orient. Each track is better than the last.

Wonderful! Just as I remember hearing it when the vinyl came out in the early 60's.

Cd played fine

space age pop at it's best .Shindo should have been as well known as his contemporaries May and Riddle.

モンドエキゾファンとしてチェックしておきたい作品。今までまとまった形でのアルバムを目にしたことがなかったので購入。琴など和楽器の音色がちりばめられたビックバンドと言ったところ。もちろんバクスターやデニーの延長線で。外人による、”ニッポン勘違いはじけまくり作品”を期待していたのですがそのへんはふつーでした。
