However, if you mean that the mat will not be ruined if water drips on it, then yes, this mat will be fine. It's about 4mm thick, has a felt top and rugged, non-skid backing so it will stay in place in front of your sink. We actually have the Sunflower on Black mat in front of our kitchen door (the most used door at our house!) and even with our Upstate New York weather (currently raining,) soggy fall leaves, wet/muddy shoes and dog paws it's in great shape. Sure, it gets grubby at times but I can sweep it, rinse it off with mild, liquid soap and water, let it dry and it's good to go. It is very thin, light weights compared to others I paid much less for and like much more. As others have said, it's not an anti-fatigue mat but will add a bit of a buffer between you and a hard floor.
