I just received this today. Quality is good. I immediately put it together (two bolts) and went down to the lake to test it out. I have never used a tool that did as well at cleaning up. It was great for removing the small rocks that collect at the water's edge. Easy to pick them up, then swish to get the sand out, then dump them on a pile. It also pulled out zebra mussel clusters very neatly. It's making this Minnesota lake beach much nicer for bare feet. I recommend it. Thanks to the person who designed it.

poor manufacturing
The first day of use we noticed the rake was at a funny angle and saw the solder joint had cracked. It seemed to work well for snail shells but wish it were built better. Still waiting for a refund after returning the rake.

Bolts, nuts, and washers oh my!
First and foremost I believe, based on feel and design and other reviews that this product will work just fine. If I had any doubt, this would be a 3 star or less. What I'm writing/complaining/ blabbing about is the sloppy drilling of holes in the fiberglass pole. It's super important that those drilled holes line up with the holes in the metal rake itself. These almost did, but alas, did not. A picture is included - sorry if it's tough to tell. But anyways, the top went in fine but the second did not. I had to use a small hammer to get it through. The quote for the company is Quality tool for a Quality job. Well, I'm not so sure it is quality with a capital Q if the makers can't even line up drill holes properly. Instant disappointment.Another thing is the directions. It's obviously all very straightforward in that you just put the rake head into the pole, line up the holes with the sticker facing up and then slide the bolts in and nut them up. But they also give you 4 washers. Why 4? Normally you use washers just on the nut end. Then as well, the nuts are self-grabbing ones (they have a plastic lining inside them)...so one would question if the washers are even necessary? I guess a little extra help doesn't hurt. But what about the extra 2 washers? They're not extras, because you'd most likely get extra bolts and nuts too.I'm not done. :) Let's say I wanted to use all 4 washers - one on each side of each bolt. It doesn't work. The bolts aren't long enough. And actually, the bolt included is just barely long enough so as the plastic lining of the self grabbing nut can screw onto the bolt. The best grab would not to use any washers. So yeah, the rake is cool and it's going to work. But the actual building of this rake still needs to be perfected to be a Quality product for my "quality" work.Update edit: I haven't touched this thing since writing the review and for some reason or another the rubber handle grew a crack. Looks like I'll be taping it like a baseball bat grip. Really close to dropping that score. Man.

Very disappointed: plastic hollow handle falls apart
The rake head is very well constructed. The hollow plastic tube/handle is not sufficient to rake heavier items: it cracked at the screws and fell apart. I plan to go to a welder and see if I can have a metal or other sturdy-material pole/handle welded unto the rake head. For $100, one expects a well attached, strong pole/handle. Very disappointing.

Heavy, short, poor design
Such a waste, bought to retreive old leaves ouf of my ponds shoreline. My everyday rake works better. This is extremely heavy, handle length very short so unless you step into murky pond mud you can only reach 3ft into pond. I should have returned but tryed a few times, grrrr, wasted money
