Pelikan Souverän M400 Fountain Pen, Fine Nib, Black/Blue, 1 Each (994939)

If you want the pen depicted in this seller's description, you might not get it. I didn't. I got an M400, pre-1997 model. The main differences are that the vintage pen does not have the gold bands on the body of the pen, nor does it have the two-tone nib. It may be a little smaller as well. It also has "Pelikan W. Germany" on the gold band on the cap. How I ended up with a brand new, pre-1997 M400 I don't know. It's a nice pen though, very understated (looks like the M200 but with a solid gold nib). If you want the fancy new one with the gold rings and nifty nib, you might want to look elsewhere.

Haven't had a fountain pen since high school, but was getting tired of the ballpoints. Nothing worse than writing somethingimportant and having the roller ball stop writing and having to find a scrap piece of paper to run it around until it starts again.Had a Parker pen and pencil set as a graduation present, but the pen disappeared about the time I was getting to like it.Ordered the Pelikan M400 and have been using it only a few days, but it's exactly what I wanted. Smooth writing, doesn't skip, fillsflawlessly. I wish my handwriting were as good as the pen.My biggest concern is that as soon as I find it indispensable, one of my sons will decide he needs it more than I do.

I use this for drawing. It works well, but is light weight for my taste.

s c r a t c h y n i b m 6 00's n i b i s s o m u c h b e t t e r, I really dont recommend this one because its the same size as the m200 but only slightly better id just shell out the extra 50-150$ on the m600 because its allready a 200$+ investment and the m600 is much better

I am in love of Palikan Pens and particularly M400, 600, 800 & M1000. Wish I could have enough money to buy all of them with Nib M, B, & I don't thinks Palikan doesn't manufacture Stub & Music, otherwise those too also.

Writes beautifully but a little too inky in terms of the line put down, even with Pelikan’s own ink. Looks beautiful, especially the two-tone nib and carries more than enough ink despite being one of the smaller pens in the range.

Non è l'uncia Pelikan che ho ma questa è una signora penna. Materiali, estetica, scorrevolezza del pennino ne fanno una delle mie penne di punta. Il tratto del pennino M è piuttosto grosso per i miei gusti ma ho la possibilità di sostituirlo facilmente con un F o forse con un EF. Confezione di tutto rispetto e servizio impeccabile.

Escrita macia, já vem com conversor de tinta, perfeita essa M400, agora vou comprar uma M600 para minha coleção de caneta tinteiro.
