The light itself is very bright (a good thing!), and the lantern feature would have been quite handy. Unfortunately, after two uses, I slid open the flashlight to lantern mode and the head just snapped right off the body, breaking the internal electronics in the process and rendering the on/off button unusable. If that happens when I'm operating the unit with my bare hands, I can't imagine it would survive particularly well if attached to the outside of a vehicle.I was promptly refunded so no complaints there, just disappointed in the product's durability.

Appears to be high quality. Works very well and both beam and flood are quite bright.

I had 2 problems with this item: 1) Poor Design 2) Low Quality. Descriptions like 'special ops' and 'aircraft grade aluminum' and 'ballistic nylon' are used to try to put lipstick on a pig. Design flaw: the light slides open to reveal the 'flood' LEDs. One switch activates the 3 'modes' of 'spot light' (1 click) 'floodlight' LEDS (2 clicks) flashing (that's a slow flash BTW, vs any kind of Strobe effect) floodlight (3 clicks). You'll go through lots of batteries with these because when it is closed you can't tell the flood light is still on (unless you're in a dark room).The magnet screws onto the bottom of the light. Seemed like a nice feature at first until I stuck it to my refrigerator and it slid down to the floor. Low Quality: First thought when I opened the box was "wow, what a piece of crap". You'll know what I mean if you've ever handled a Streamlight or Pelican or Surefire or even a Bayco light. It feels flimsy and the O ring on the slide flops around. Within a few days the 'flood' stopped working. A couple days later the switch failed and it wouldn't turn on. I have a no-brand LED light that was on the counter at a convenience store for 2.99 that has worked for 2 years now. If I seem annoyed its because I actually bought 3 of these for $25 and gave 2 away as gifts before the price fell again to 19. They did live up to the 'satisfaction guarantee' and provide a full refund; but not until trying to charge a $5 re-stocking fee...I had to complain to Amazon to get that waived.

very bright light. the magnet on the end is strong and hold the light in various positions. very useful for working on the car, etc. let's see how it stands up to the test of time and use. for now very happy with it.!!! UPDATE 12-NOV-2015 !!!I was very happy with this flashlight until it stopped working. Went to turn in on last night while fixing the car and nothing worked. Thought it was the batteries so I put in a fresh set and still nothing. This light was bright and compact but definitely not reliable for me. Luckily I had a spare flashlight that I ended up using but be warned that if you are buying this and count on it always working carry a spare just in case. I am disappointed that it stopped working, especially since I store it in the car in it's case and it never get's wet or dropped, etc.

This is an excellent flashlight to keep around the house for whenever you need a convenient, bright light for a task. I have had it now for almost a month, have used it for a car job and a laptop job for illumination. It stays in place next to my desktop PC thanks to the bitchin' strong magnet that is excellent for sticking to things and staying there. I have used this light a solid amount in the time I have had it (definitely not a huge amount of use, but not a small amount either) and the light is still very bright on the same set of AAA's I put in it. I'm impressed by this, as I was worried the light would drain over time regardless of use. The packaging area is weak, but I didn't care about that and knew it when I bought it. The carrying case it comes with is nice but I don't have much use for it.Again, this is an excellent flashlight. The only usage I think it would NOT be good for is if you are going to beat the hell out of it. This light is NOT built to take tons of abuse (even if the name makes it seem like it will). This is meant to be a work light that can take a few drops and still hold up, not something you keep in the car 24/7 with lots of extreme heat and/or cold temperatures. But for about $20 (what I paid for it), this is an excellent value that will last with moderate usage and beating. If you want to beat the hell out of it and still have it last, spend more money on a higher quality product.

This was potentially a great item, BUT---. The flashlight lens was loose and rattled in the bezel, the work light was very loose in housing when slid open, and the flashlight function did not light all (work light function was very bright). I suspect some missing parts. After several attempts I was unable to get the Amazon site to let me return for replacement without paying for shipping so I returned for refund which I WAS able to do for free and received a prompt credit to my charge card. I would like to have one of these flashlights but guess I would have to examine it before buying even at this exceptionally reasonable price. (which was only $20 when I purchased)
