I read and thoroughly enjoyed all eight books in the complete set. Any age reader can appreciate the stories, the characters (especially Anne), and Montgomery's beautiful words used to describe the surroundings throughout the books. The reader can "see" the countryside and the characters so vividly. I loved Anne of Green Gables best.

The joy and laughter of youth that grows into love and maturity - these books are wonderfully written. The people come to life like few other - a lot of lessons to be learned of loyalty, wisdom and endurance. The humor shines throughout this book!

A wonderful series of books that all children should read. The first two books would be great for boys and girls, but I think that the remaining ones will hold the interest of girls better.

I have watched the movies many times and loved them. But there truly is nothing better than reading the book. I love L.M. Montgomery's writing style. I found Anne's personality and dramatic flair so endearing. It made me start noticing things around me and using my imagination more. I was inspired by her care for others and the depth of her emotions. It was wonderful to read the other books in the series and follow along with her life as she grew up and married and experienced many new things and met more people to love and bring joy to. I'm so thankful for this series that is so convenient and affordable.

Simply use the page back function at that point and there you will find an active table of contents for all eight books including every chapter heading (which isn't something I necessarily require).Reason I'm giving it only 4 stars? Doesn't include "Chronicles of Avonlea" and "Further Chronicles of Avonlea" which does reference Anne Shirley when she was about 20 years of age and for me should be in a 'complete' set (tho you can pick these two titles up free for kindle). Otherwise, book is a bargain and one I would definitely recommend.

Loved these books. I’d read the first one years ago. But reading them in this series allowed me to get to know the characters and love them.I learned so much about WWI and faith.

I love these books. They are clean & wholesome, interesting, entertaining, with characters who are real & believable. I read them probably once year and always enjoy them.

I enjoyed this lovely step back in time. I needed a place to go that was honest and positive. I think this read would be very appropriate for middle school kids. It would make them aware of things that they might learn from.I laughed and cried and marveled at the way Anne and her family handled what was put before them.I thoroughly enjoyed all the novels.

Esta novela va a ser un reto grande, ya leí toda la saga completa en español y ahora quiero leerla en inglés. Tengo varios libros pendientes pero esta la quiero leer de tirón sin ninguna novela en inglés pendiente.Es una magnifica obra al menos para mi por eso quiero releerla en el idioma original.

Im Laufe der Jahre gab es etliche Verfilmungen, die ich auch gelegentlich leicht amüsiert angeschaut habe. Das Buch ist um Längen besser. Charmante, humorige, warmherzige und kluge Geschichte, sehr schön erzählt. Die anfangs etwas nervige, mit zuviel Phantasie und Dramatik gesegnete, dauerquasselnde Anne und ihre Entwicklung versteht man hier viel besser.
