Love the texture it gives
Very sturdy paper. It has a texture that I wanted to try. Also, it's easier to frame and has the look of canvas. Can't pass that up if your an artist.

Great product for easy painting
I bought this with the specific intention of painting using acrylics and cutting the paper to size to fit into existing frames. It is really easy to sketch on; also easy to erase. The paint goes on well and looks good. The paper is thick enough and the paint does not leak. If you use a bit more water, that area appears a bit indented on the back but the quality of paper remains and after it dries there is no difference. I use a brown board to support the paper while I am painting. You can sense the thickness of the paper when you cut it and it does not bend easily; I have some of my paintings hanging from a piece of twine between 2 push pins in the walls and held by wooden cloth pins. The quality and the ease of use is what is going to make me buy this again.

Buyer Beware
Nice quality canvas paper but beware. Even though it has gesso on it, if you plan on doing an oil painting it will soak in .Not recommended for oil.

My friend was very please with this paper!
My friend who was 92 loved this paper to do her painting on when she wanted a certain size. She said the paper weight was good. I don’t remember much more for she died from covid19 this pass Jan and I miss her a great deal. Amazon keeps asking for a review and I can’t ask her but just try to remember what she said before she got the virus. She was very pleased with it I know and she was an artist

I’m hooked on this stuff
Ive been using this canva-paper for years. I’m hooked and can’t get away from it. Sometimes I wish I didn’t use it: because to display it, you have to go through the matting/framing process, whereas a regular stretched canvas can go right up on the wall of you wish. (Although, I do simply tape mine to the wall before I get around to framing anything 😅) . Something about it has just right the texture, paper like but sturdy. I just can’t seem to get the same effects with actual canvas that I do with this stuff.

A great alternative to canvas!
Love this paper!! Great for when I need to do big projects and drawings. I used India ink and it didnt bleed through, came out smooth and the ink didnt have issues with the texture. Gave a nice clean line with a brush. If you apply and reapply and keep adding wet mediums to it, I dont think it would hold up like canvas so keep that in mind. But a great alternative! It has a silky smooth and "plasticky" feel almost like its curved with something, so it definitely outperforms your typical heavyweight paper for watercolor or something. I could see this working with all types of mediums.

Great way to practice or even do production art
Given the choice of this paper vs a canvas, I'll take this almost every time because it's just much easier to store my finished works. Its difficult to feel the difference between this and canvas after both have been gesso'ed. I paint almost exclusively 16x20 and with oils. I use the wet on wet and this paper works terrific in those conditions. I have painted with Acrylics and I would recommend to gesso first. But, even without gesso, you can get solid results from acrylics.

Changed women
Ok I am changing over to these. I simply love this product. It would fit into any frame. Acrylic paint or gouache painting can go into frames. And also I don’t have all theses canvases laying around screaming at me to be painted on. This is my first time buying a ‘slightly damaged’ product from amazon. Will definitely do that again too. They said ‘the outside paper was bent’ and that was all what was wrong with it. Hope so next time as well. Good job Amazon. And Carson.

Good quality canvas!
This is my second time to have tried a quality canvas. The first one was Fredrix, which is amazing. And so I decided to try a different one and purchased this.I’m just new to painting and been seriously painting for 2yrs now. I started with acrylics and I usually use the cheap canvases you can get at the dollar store. They worked fine until I often get frustrated when blending. I thought it was the paint, the brush, or me. But no, it was the canvas. I always hear famous artists youtubers say to use quality canvases even if you’re just practicing. It truly affects your painting experience. With Canson, your painting surface is a bit textured yet the paint still glides. Blending is so smooth that you don’t have to frequently corporate water to your brushes to achieved that smooth/soft effect.
