I was looking for a shiny metallic pink to use on a project. This is a good brand, and the set contains three rose/pinks, so I thought it would be worth the cost. Not so. To understand how the paint will look on your paper, you need to take into account the nature of metallic paints. There are two states: 1. Light hitting the pigment at the exact angle to make it shimmer. 2. Regular home or gallery lighting. Without movement, your painting, hanging on a wall or in a gallery, will display that second state. In other words, the flat (non shiny) colour is what will be displayed most often. So, you need to make sure the flat colour you are putting down is what you want. The shimmer colour (which in the case of these paints is drastically different to the flat colour) is like a serendipity. An occasional glint to delight the eye. What this means is that the Rose Gold, Rose, and Pink are all variations of mottled blush-brown. Only in specific light are they what you would call a true pink. There are great examples in the reviews here. Devin has two photos that show the flat and the shiny colours. Take a good look at them, because the flat colours are the ones you will see most on your painting. Another great example is the face on Roberta's image. If those flat blush-brown colours are what you are after, with only an occasional glint of pink, then these paints will be perfect for you. If, like me, you needed something light and bright for floral and insects - then you will be disappointed. Also, as someone here mentioned, do be sure to let the water pool in the paint pan for a couple minutes before you use them, or you won't get much pigment. They need a little time to wake up.

These paints are amazing, especially on dark backgrounds. The paint dries to a very even metallic finish. On lighter paper, several applications may be needed if you want an opaque metallic finish, but it is possible to achieve. Make sure to let the water sit on the paints before using, otherwise you won't get the full effect from these paints.

Les couleurs sont magnifiques, sur papier blanc et surtout sur papier noir. J'adore utiliser ces couleurs pour la calligraphie à la plume, résultats toujours au top. Par contre le prix est élevé mais de temps en temps il y a des promos.. et c'est vrai aussi qu'elles durent très très longtemps.

Tolle Farben, schillernd bei wenig Wasser und deckend und glänzend wenn wie beschrieben angewendet. Zu benutzen wie Acrylmalerei. Volle Kaufempfehlung!!!

I have obnoxiously high standards but these are really quite lovely. The pigment is very buildable and can get to a point where the paper is no longer visible if you really work them hard enough. There is no weird discoloration when the light isn't catching the mica pigments---which is something I can't really stand in some of the other pallets from this line. The paints can also be watered down for a nice glitter wash depending on the sort of look that you're trying to accomplish. They mix well together, too. However, the Pink shade does go down a little patchy and I feel like you do have to work a bit for it to have a more solid look to it. The Rose shade and the Rose Gold shade are also almost identical on paper and it feels like a bit of a waste to have them both be in the same pallet. Aside from this, I'm honestly really pleased with these. They feel nice, I can tell that they're going to last a long time on paper, and the mica glitter doesn't transfer or rub off after the paints have dried. The packaging is god awful though. Like, it's SO BAD. I don't really mind that much since it has no effect on the product itself, but these are super high-end paints in like a plastic dollar store makeup pallet. (And they're literally almost five dollars per pan)! Unfortunately, it does sort of detract from the overall experience while using them and makes everything feel a little cheap. One of the pans even fell out of its little spot during shipping---but nothing actually broke so I'm ignoring it. Overall really nice quality product with a few quirks that I thought people might want to know about before buying.
