Took a Chance and WON!
I was concerned with all the bad reviews about getting land animals instead of ocean animals... but the positive were so good and the price was so good... that I had to take a chance. I am SOOOO glad that I did. Seriously this is an AWESOME set. I have exactly 90 ocean animals. Most of them are in the 1-2 inch range though a few like the sea dragons seahorses are a tad longer. Most are painted very well considering their size and price - eyes were where eyes belonged, paint was consistent for a particular species without be too same, and only the three sea anemones had a poor paint job. The ocean animals are the perfect size to fit into Easter eggs, fit into ice cube trays, fit into water bottles, etc. I intend to use them for all sorts of sensory bins, bottles, and bag ideas but they would also work for school dioramas. Sure the collection of animals was missing some things like squid, nautilus, and deep sea creatures... but it did have jellyfish, clams, snails, sea slugs, sea snakes, etc. which most sets do not include. honestly there is so much living in the ocean that it is impossible to include all species. I really wish it did include sea otters though - instead of the penguins. The only cons are that: 1. animals are not in correct comparable sizes, but seriously that would have been impossible given the range in size from a blue whale to a sea anemone.. 2. at times an animal's color is not true to real life... and 3. sometimes there is a mold line, but I don't feel it really takes away from the creature. Overall, I am going to look for other sets by Oriental Trading Company - I already own their tree frog sets and now their sea life creatures - both sets were awesome. This is the complete list of animals I got. There were a lot of sharks, so I did my best to determine and separate each species:2 Crabs in greyish green2 Lobsters in orange with greenish highlights2 Humpback whales2 Blue whales (mouths open)2 Orca2 Sawsharks3 Hammerhead sharks2 Blue sharks3 Whaler sharks3 Bull sharks3 Bullhead sharks2 Lemon sharks3 Clams3 Snails type 13 Snails type 22 Jellyfish3 Sea turtles grey color2 Lion fish3 Rock fish orangy3 Rock fish greyish2 Sting rays3 Octopi3 Seals grey3 Seals orangy2 Walrus3 Sea lions white with green spots2 Sea snakes in sea grass/coral2 Sea horses on algea/seaweed3 Dolphins in blue/aqua color2 Sea slugs3 Star fish / Sunflower sea stars3 Sea anemone (not very good)3 Sea dragons / sea horses2 Penguin3 Blue long nosed fish (no idea what species)3 Blue-grey white spotted fish (no idea what species)

Fantastic Variety
These. Are. Amazing. Yes they are small but they are well done and the detail is great. The smallest is about 3/4 in. height, width, and depth, and the largest is about 3/4 inch by 2 inches.I received 91, with either two or three.of each included species. I plan to use these as geocache items ("swag"); I am not sure that any child would pick some of these species (like the echinoderms) if they only get one choice of this grab bag, but who knows. I am very sensitive to a lot of the plastics that come from China, but the odor from these isn't bad at all (in fact, I had to stick them right under my nose to smell it, and it gave me a happy memory of something from my childhood that I can't quite place).I am not an expert at sea creature identification, but my pack included: lobster, dolphin, nurse shark, orca, hammerhead shark, leopard shark, sea horse, sea dragon, eel, clam, stingray, crab, walrus and three other kinds of pinniped, octopus, sea cucumber, sea star (8 legs) and two other things I think are also echinoderms (urchins?), two kinds of gastropods, sea turtle, 3 kinds of sharks I don't know, 2 types of whales I don't know, 6 fishes (guesses: sailfish? lionfish?). I am really pleased with the assortment and richness of color and other details. A good buy considering what you get.

Love these and great deal
I bought these to pass out with candy on Halloween. They were super cute and surprisingly detailed for how cheap they were!We didn't get very many trick or treaters this year so my three year old got to keep half of the bag of sea animals.Would definitely purchase these next year for Halloween treats. I got the full 90-piece bag for under $12 this year (2015).Great deal! Would totally recommend these over candy as price incentives or treats for kids!I included some pictures to demonstrate that these weren't crappy half-butt plastic toys. I thought they were pretty nice looking! They're very small but my three year old still enjoys playing with them. There's also a great variety and multiples of the same animal come in the bag. There was much more variet than the ones that were in my pictures. There's a super cute sea snail and sea cucumber I can't seem to find right now.

Cute but really small
So I made this purchase for my 5 year old son who is obsessed with sea creatures. The bag did come on time which of course made me very happy. However, the animals are really small... most of mine are an inch and some smaller. Also, I did not receive 90 either. I believe we counted 74 creatures. But I will say that they are painted wonderfully, there is a huge variety and I did only receive ocean animals. I was planning on using this as a Christmas present (yes I shop early, I have a lot of kids) but I will probably use it as a stocking stuffer because they are just so small.

For the price this is a great set of detailed sea creatures
For the price this is a great set of detailed sea creatures. It even contained some unusual ones, like a geoduck. It contained 90 pieces all sea creatures. They were smaller than i expected, considering the manufacturers information says that they are good for children 1 month and up. My child is 2 1/2 and I am not sure that these are completely acceptable for that age. The largest creature is about 2 1/4 inches long, and substantially narrower than that. The smallest creature was about 1/2-3/4" of an inch long. There were between 1 and 3 of each type of creature. 13 creatures were in the 2-2 1/4" size range. 8 creatures were about 1 3/4" long. 12 creatures were 1-1 1/2" long. 1 creature was 1/2" long. The majority of the pieces were around 1-1 1/2" long. Several creatures had some sort of kelp or greenery attached to them with a little base; for example, the seahorse, and the eel. Overall I think this is a nice set, though it is probably best for older children.
