Q: How does this “small” compare to the al standard size comfo-bite? how would you know to get standard or small? does this one fit standard size regs?

I think the hole that fits onto the regulator is the same size as standard, but the mouthpiece itself is a little smaller, a better fit for kids or smaller women

It's physically possible but really up to the dive shop whether they will let you switch it out. Have a zip tie handy in case they do.

Q: Will this fit the dive rite xt2 regs?

Yes, it will fit, but be aware there are 2 sizes for the 'mouth' side of this mouthpiece: Large and Small. Both fit on the Reg side of the mouthpiece. (You will need to supply your own ZIP tie to secure it to the regulator.)This is the Small.The small is generally for youth and small-framed men and women.It is built like a regulator mouthpiece but is about the size/feel of a snorkel mouthpiece...sort of.I could not find any model numbers on my original mouthpiece to tell if it was a small or large; really, there was no 'S" or 'L' or P/N.I took a chance and ordered this. I'll be able to use it as a spare, but it is not as comfortable, for me, as the 'L' version.I really like the way the 'L' fits and the AL Comfobite model kind of hooks behind your top teeth so you don't have to bite down hardly at all.If I had a choice, I'd have gotten the LARGE.The 'L' is the size as the one that came standard on my Aqualung Titan LX reg.
