Telex Ear Cushions for Stratus 50D/30XT/or Echelon 25XT Aviation Headset

These are definitely not like the original Telex ear pads for the Stratus 50D and don't look like the photo. I've ordered the original Stratus 50D replacements from Telex which were packaged in Telex packaging. These are knock-offs repackaged in a plastic bag with an enclosed label. Maybe this was an "outsourced" service part?Nevertheless, these should work just fine for my old Stratus 50D headsets. These replacements are not as thick and are VERY tight to get onto the headsets. I'd install them in a warm environment to encourage stretch and reduce the chance of ripping the earseals since they are so tight. Expect some "expletives" while trying to put them on. Perhaps these may last longer than the original Telex earseals because they don't have a seam on the perimeter that contacts the person's ears. That was the failure mode of the original Telex earseals. These are a little expensive, even compared to the Bose ear seal replacements I just ordered. But considering the Stratus 50D is quite old, then I am happy they are still available. Otherwise, I'd have to enlist my arts and crafts skills!

These are extremely high priced for what they are. So what else is new in aviation, right? Our headsets were so uncomfortable they weren't comfortable even for short flights. These new cushions made them literally like new again. One tip, they are removed by simply pulling the old ones off and then sliding the new ones on. So simple I missed it. I was afraid I'd break something by just pulling. I did it carefully and it was fine. The high price prevented the 5th star.

We were very glad to find the exact replacement of the cushions from the original headset. These cushions are my wife's favorite because they are very comfortable for long flights when wearing thick framed glasses. Even with decent clamping power on the headset, the frames don't become uncomfortable.I have a set of Bose (a few models old) and she still prefers her Telex with these cushions over my headphones.Keep in mind that while these do some great passive noise reduction, we use these for an ANC headset. I can't speak for how well they'd do with passive cancellation.

These ear pads fit perfectly on my old Telex headset. They allowed me to stretch the life of my headset even further. I just wish that aviation stuff weren't so expensive. If these replacement pads were in the $12-15 range, I'd call it an excellent value. But alas, these are the only game on the market. So... it is what it is. I'm happy with these either way.

Work like the originals.

They are a little bit bulky compared to other headsets I've used, but the cushions are very comfortable and they work well with the ANR.

Ear cushions came sooner than expected. Item was a described and fitted my 30XT headset.
