Or is it strictly for grooming** A: Our White German Shepherd is 104 pounds and uses the steps well to get in and out of our semi tractor. The steps with the extensions work perfectly leaning on the steps of the truck. We have also use the steps to load the dogs into the back of a large sized SUV. The steps do not hold up well in outdoor environment and will show rust quickly. **Q: I have a human tub that is 36 inches high. Will these steps work?** A: It will reach okay as I have them attached at 36" to our dog tub (like the one in the picture), but it is unlikely your dog will jump down into a tub from the steps. **Q: Will it work on pontoon?** A: This is very stable and well made. From land getting into pontoon I would guess yes. **Q: How much weight will it hold? Can you go up it with your dog?** A: These are not wide enough for you and the dog. My dogs did not like the fact that they moved around and their feet slipped. I returned the stairs and to my disappointment had to pay return postage. They did not work and moved around and I could not use them. What these stairs need is clamps at the top that will clamp to the tub edge. The surfaces on the stairs need to be made out some non skid rubber. I also purchased the Master Equipment Steel Pet Tub Stairs Extension shown in the picture. They did not help and I also had to pay return postage on them as well.
