These are only small spinning reels, but they’re very good for the price. I remember back in the 80’s when cheap reels were cheap quality. These are cheap in price but of the same quality as a very good reel back in the 80’s. How manufacturing quality has changed over the years!

Looks and feels like a premium item especially for the price with its cork handle. Mx2 1000 reel goes very with this rod keeping the weight down

Great lightweight rod

The Mitchell epic rod looks great, bought for a holiday sea fishing trip to Scotland. I was initially impressed with what looked a reasonably quality rod for the money. Paired with a brand new real and brand new 20lb braided line (sea knight x9) which I have used a lot for spinner/lure fishing. The issue was the tip ring. It's and anti frap ring which is great but the inner ring finish is like a razor. As soon as I threaded the line through it cut like a knife through butter when pulling it back towards the butt of the rod. It's the same on ring 2&3. Un usable straight from the bag. For Mitchell this is a case of shocking quality control. It may be an isolated case but check if you do purchase one.

Llevo varios años pescando y he probado muchas cañas, tanto que me haya comprado yo como de amigos y demás. Sin duda esta es la mejor caña que he probado en mi vida sobretodo en calidad-precio, he tenido cañas más caras que me han gustado muchísimo menos, ya tenía una caña mitchell de fondo y esta marca no decepciona os lo aseguro, calidad excelente, peso excelente, flexibilidad muy buena, fácil de lanzar no cuesta mucho acostumbrarse, de primeras puede parecer para casting pero yo la he usado en spinning y va de lujo, con una buena elección de señuelo os aseguro que da una experiencia inolvidable.
