It looks harder to install than it is...
The Fox says "This is the part to fix when the fridge stops cooling and doesn't restart until you fiddle with the temperature control problem. It's super easy to replace, all you need is a nut driver to remove 1 screw to swap in the new part. Unplug the refrigerator from the wall before you start and take a picture of where the wires go to the new thermostat. Take care not to kink that long sensor tube and you'll be chillin' like a villain." =^.^= ©2023

Great value - 30 yr old frig working perfectly again
Correct replacement for our 30 yr. old Whirlpool frig. Started having problems with the frig running constantly and not cycling. Checked out YouTube vids for help and realized the compressor was working fine but the temp control was off. After I played with the control setting I realized it was that component (the thermostat) that controlled the cycling. I spent several days monkeying with the control to get it to cycle (while I was waiting for the part)Installation was a little more tricky than the instructional vid from PartsSelect; they walked me through the exact model of frig but neglected to tell one that the removal and replacement of the thermostat was complicated by the interference with the linkage to the freezer section dampner door. Removal and reinstallation of that linkage was hampered by the very tight conditions to release the bellcrank on the linkage. Got it done but added a good 15 minutes to the job.All came out well fortunately and the frig is performing up to spec again - 0 to ! deg. in the freezer and 36-38 deg. in the frig section. We left on an extended trip right after the repair and when we returned the frig was working just as I left it.Really appreciated the prompt delivery of the thermostat from Amazon and the price; most of the replacement units from state side vendors were much more expensive (PartsSelect was $92+). This unit was made in China and I believe that most others are also made there or somewhere abroad - not in the USA (after all, what is anymore?).Are we going to get a new frig? - yes, but that is currently a problem that anyone these days can attest to. If you want a stainless steel, French doors, ice in the door, etc. you're in good shape but if you want something else (we want a replacement side by side in white with no water dispenser) it's going to be special order and will take quite a while. We'll start that process but glad that our old frig is up to the job until we can get a new one. Thanks Amazon for having the part and a good price and prompt delivery to correct the problem. Thanks also to YouTube contributors for the troubleshooting guidelines and part replacement vids; after looking at them felt it was something I could tackle.

Needs adjustment
After installing this thermostat, my 25-year-old Whirlpool refrigerator went from not cooling at all to cooling non-stop and freezing the contents of the refrigerator. Turning the small adjustment screw clockwise fixed the problem, but these should come properly calibrated from the factory.

Compressor won’t turn off, still fiddling with it 12+ hours after install. Not worth the money.
It’s basically a match to the original 20 year old whirlpool model side-by-side refrigerator freezer‘S thermostat we have, with one exception, the plastic sheath covering does not cover the full length of the metal tubing. That’s kind of important when it needs to “clip securely” into the mounting bracket on the air exchange vent, that regulates the cold air/defrost between the freezer and refrigerator; it sticks out and will vibrate against the case if not clipped in. That’s one of the reasons for the low star rating, but there are much more significant reasons, as follows.DH & I watched a professional refrigeration repairman’s YouTube video on how to change the thermostat on our specific model fridge, before we purchased thermostat. I needed to know how it was done and if it was easy enough to do, I am the handyman in our house. Anyway, it was very easy to remove the old one and install the new, once I figured out what to do with the end that didn’t clip in because there was no plastic covering, you just slide the covering down the tube😉, but the entire tube should be covered for protection as it’s filled with liquid freon. Once I turned the power back on I had to smack the control panel to get it to “kick” on. The compressor fan for a bit, and I assumed it was working fine and forgot about it for a couple of hours. Went to make dinner and realized that NO, once the compressor turned off it never came back on! Literally my freezer was worse off now than before I replaced the dang thing! So removed it, then I recalled from the video that the professional said on the thermostat there is this little hole that shows the word colder with and arrow; he said NEVER stick a screwdriver in there and fiddle with the dial in it, they come “factory set” and don’t ever need to be adjusted. When we manually turned the dial, not hooked up, it was obvious that it wouldn’t turn on based on where the “click-on & off” were located on the dial, closet to the coldest setting. So we took a screwdriver to that little hole and fiddled with it until the “clicks” aligned better with the off and cold/factory settings; reinstalled it and turned the power back on. It’s been running ever since. NON-STOP RUNNING, ever since!! 🙄 We had fiddled with the knobs, fiddled with the thermostats factory setting, readjusted the protective covering, installed/removed/reinstalled too many times, and now we’re waiting for the compressor to just burnout!Sorry for the “life story!” I really wanted this to work, we needed it to help buy us some time until refrigerators were back in stock after the pandemic. The one we want has an in stock & delivery date of July/August and my fridge has stopped working multiple times now!

So far so good...
I had this same problem 5 years ago. I purchased this part (I’m sure from a different seller back then) and installed it at the time and it solved my problem of everything freezing on the fridge side of my side by side refrigerator. This time I did the same installation with new part and after monitoring the freezer and fridge with thermometers for a week I’m pretty comfortable that it’s working but I have one concern. I can’t turn the fridge control very much past the off position or the freezer control any further than “A” of A, B or C to keep the fridge at 38 to 49 degrees and freezer between -5 below or 5 above zero. That’s not how it was when it was new. I’m not sure if there is another issue in addition to the part I replaced. For now it’s working and is saving me $1200 for the cost of a new fridge. I don’t think my issue has anything to do with the quality of the part. It’s exactly like the one I purchased 5 years ago. And I received it promptly after ordering.

Fit was perfect and works as expected!
This part fit my Kenmore Coldspot Model 106 Refrigerator. The part was almost identical to the original and works fine.
