A gifted and talented writer. I highly recommend this book.

It is important that we focus on Indigenous People who were first on this land and their land was taken away completely by European Settlers.Leonard Peltier has been imprisoned for no crimes.We can never forget this reality as we currently fight to maintain a democracy.

I have read many, many books regading our Government's history of their treatment of Native Americans ffrom the early 1800's through today. I have also read many autobiographies and other books about AIM, it's people, some of the issues they had been involved with such as the office building in Washington D.C.,, the "Trail of Tears", the Pine Ridge and Rosebud reservations, the deaths of two FBI Agents and many more activities. A lot of the books had references to Leonard Peltier describing many different people's perspectives of him and his life. The unproductive appeals by many for Clemency to his continued incarceration at Leavenworth. I became very interested in his life and activities. I found this book and read from his perspective what his life has been like. I did not find anything in this book that I had not known a little about however it did give information I was looking for. I have shared Leonards's story with many both old and young, I have initiated a gathering of signatures for petitions and have talked to all who would listen to no avail. This book has given me the direction I should go and with the Spirit of Crazy Horse I shall move toward the Healing Processs.

Everything has been said about Leonard Peltier and his trial and life behind bars. Reading this book will put you into what that means to a human being--a native American--trying to walk the path of truth in a society that still refuses to hear the truth. Some of us are old enough to recall the Vietnam War, the Nixon years, the antiwar rallies, and the criminalization of those who spoke truth to power. You may be shocked to see just how close we came to what could be a worsening of that lust for power that drives (mainly white) men mad. Please, read this book, and then pass it on to a friend.

EXCELLENT BOOK BY LEONARD PELTIER. I'VE READ MANY BOOKS ABOUT AIM AND THE OGLALA INCIDENT. FOR THE LIFE OF ME, I CANNOT BELIEVE LEONARD PELTIER IS STILL SERVING TIME AND HAS NOT BEEN PARDONED. INJUSTICE BY THE COURTS AND OF COURSE, THE ALWAYS CORRUPT FBI. OUR GOVERNMENT, BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE, IS A NATIONAL DISGRACE AND EMBARRASSMENT FOR INCARCERATING THIS MAN FOR ALL THESE YEARS. THIS MAN'S CONSTITUTIONAL AND CIVIL RIGHTS WERE DENIED HIM BY OUR GOVERNMENT AND ESPECIALLY THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM ( JOKE ). LEONARD PELTIER IS INNOCENT, THE GOVERNMENT AND JUSTICE SYSTEM KNOW THIS. LEONARD PELTIER'S REDEMPTION IS TO BE PARDONED AND RELEASED. There is NO doubt whatsoever, that Leonard Peltier has been imprisoned falsely. Even A District Court Judge who reviewed the evidence several yrs ago, ruled that the evidence against him didn't hold up, circumstantial AND contrived. It is within the power of the President to give Leonard Peltier a Presidenntial pardon. There is a Petition online that one can sign and send to Obama. Whether or not it will do any good remains to be seen. This is a travesty and Justice was denied AND continues to be. He's in his 70's and ill. He needs to be released NOW and should have been decades ago because He Did Not Kill the two Agents. From what can be learned from reading in Peltier's own words (as the man who was there!) it is even more possible that the two agents were killed by what the military calls "friendly fire," but rather than own up, they pinned the deaths on the man they most wanted imprisoned: Leonard Peltier, and they got away with it.

Leonard Peltier's prison writings from 20 years ago still hold true, more than unfortunately, as a testament to the criminal racism of the American incarceration system, and the internecine, corrupt politics within the FBI. Now in 2024, even after countless recantations by coerced witnesses, and mountains of proven falsified evidence, Peltier is still being imprisoned in his advanced illness that will eventually cause his death. Prison writings such as Peltier's Martin Luther King Jr, even St Paul the apostle, hold humanity to account for its brutality and injustice.

This is an excellent book.Quite why Leonard Peltier is still serving a totally unjust double life term + 7 years sentence is beyond me.However he does not dwell on the injustice of the conviction and his quiet strength comes off every page.If the US government and law agencies thought they could break him they were wrong!

I loved this book. What an amasing person Leonard Peltier is.I highly recommend, "Prison Writings: My Life is My Sundance".

Looking forward to reading the book. Good job I wasn't in a hurry though as it took just under a month to arrive.
