OSHA requires the mfg test in accordance with ANSI S3.19-1974 and this is enforced by the EPA. I know the folks who make Pro Ears get their products tested at Michaels and Assoc, who i believe is the only NVLAP independent lab to do this testing. You do need to properly insert the tips into your ear to get this level of protection and make sure you use the correct size tips. They provide three sizes which should cover most people.
