Great for travel!
I love Lightload Beach Towels! I was looking for something to take on a cruise to use at the beach that was light and compact, but big enough to actually be useful at the beach. I know, I know... you don't have to pack a towel for a cruise, you can take the beach towels off the ship to use. But who wants to? They are great towels, but HEAVY especially after they are wet. I did that once and carried it around all day. It wasn't fun. I wouldn't want to pay the ridiculous price on the off chance it got lost either. The Lightload towel was the perfect solution. It is light and fits easily into a backpack or day bag but big enough to spread out to sit on or dry off with. They dry quickly when they laid out so they can be repacked easily. While it is true they are not as durable as a regular cotton towel, they are sturdy enough for several uses. I have used my Lightload towel on at least 4 different trips, which means 5 washes since I washed it to soften it up before I used it the first time and it is still in good shape. I can see myself using it several more times. Even if I do only get 5 or 6 uses out of the towel it was reasonably priced and the simple convenience of it is more than worth what I paid. Since that first trip with the Lightload towel I have bought another beach towel for my nephew to use. I always carry at least one towel with me on any trip now and also some of the smaller sized towels too. I am glad to have found such a great product!

These are great towels!
In my opinion the most important thing to remember when camping is...stay dry! And if you do get wet, it is important to dry off quickly. Anyone will tell you, avoid cotton when adventuring outdoors. Years ago when taking my kids camping one thing I really hated was the pile of wet cotton towels (usually coated with sand) we would have to deal with all weekend.....no matter what, they just don't dry. After searching around for an alternative, I found Lightload towels and have used them ever since. I have used all sizes but really like the beach towels the very best. They are really big, lightweight, very absorbent and dry quickly....it's even easy to shake the sand out of them. Oh, and to start out they are about the size of a hockey puck so they are easy to pack and only use as many as you need. Will they last forever? No they will not. However, with just a little care and common sense they WILL last a good long time. After camping, I throw them in the wash on a gentle cycle, dry them on low or medium heat and store them until the next trip.We bring them on road trips, to the amusement park, hiking, camping, boating, and really on most any trip...especially trips with our kids. They can serve as a blanket in a pinch or even folded to sit on, rolled up to use as a pillow, and really anything you can dream up.Try this product, you will be glad you did.

Good travel/emergency towel
This is a great product to have while in situations where you need to conserve space. It takes up much less room than the "travel" towels, even less when compared to packing a regular towel. They last for quite a few uses, and weigh next to nothing, so it works great when going through overseas destinations where you are often limited in weight. They are light enough to carry multiples if you want, and cheap enough to throw away if you don't need it anymore. I used one overseas in Afghanistan every day for about a month before it finally started breaking down; using it as a bath towel, ground cloth and light shade. I would caution as others have not to machine wash though, unless you are using a gentle cycle they do tend to break apart. Hang it up to dry instead of putting through a dryer; they wick moisture quickly and will be ready to use again in a few hours. Understand that these are a short-term use item, and they will serve you well.

Great for Travel
I decided to make my bag a carry on and save space on a beach towel by purchasing this item. It worked perfectly, because it saved SOOO much space. Plus on the way back I just threw the towel out, so I wouldn't have to bring it back expanded. My only problem with the towel is that is so thin that it feels like a paper towel. I had wished I had a normal towel since I spent so much time at the beach. So generally don't expect this to be a lush beach towel. Also, you have to get it wet before you can use it, lucky I had thought of that at the hotel the night before. This item is amazing if you need an emergency towel with you, but cant spare the space.

Great backpacking and emergency towel.
You have to soak the pellet to get it to expand into a towel. Once you do that you'll never get it as small as the pellet was, but it dries quickly and once dry can be folded to a very small size.Absorbs a lot of water, almost all of which can be squeezed out easily, so you can dry-squeeze-repeat to sop up a lot of water.the label says you can machine wash it on the GENTLE cycle, but I haven't tried it yet.Great for backpacking, where you want everything you carry to be small and light yet highly functional.Excellent for inclusion in an emergency supplies kit or bug out bag. Also, since they're so small, you can toss a few in your beach bag, etc. so that you'll have some spare towels on hand when your kids complain they forgot to bring their towels to the beach/pool/swimming hole.

Lightweight and dries fast
Very lightweight and dries very fast. It is also pretty absorbent (for the size) and soft. I have machine-washed it several times in a mesh laundry bag for delicates and it has held up well. But I wouldn't try machine-washing this towel without a bag (FYI: the washers I used did not have a Hand-wash cycle). I would not recommend wringing it either as it is very delicate.I got a rayon travel towel with similar claims for my last trip to compare them (as we needed more than one towel). I would definitely recommend this towel vs. the rayon one as it dries much faster and feels and looks better. It does not compress back to its original size, of course, but fits nicely in the narrow space between the bars on the bottom of a suitcase.
