SO CONVENIENTโผ๏ธ
Depending on just how difficult it was to put up your Atlas to begin with, it really becomes a hassle to take it down just to replace the AA batteries. Then the struggle to put it back up! This nifty battery pack solves the problem once and for all. HOWEVER, the Atlas will still have to be taken down at least yearly for cleaning. The convenience of battery replacement makes this a great investmentโผ๏ธ

If this fits your weather station - GET IT
This is the bees knees. I had a weather station that had the batteries in the station at the top of a pole. Major PIA to change the batteries. So I bought an upgraded station that is partially solar powered and this accessory for mounting the batteries down where we people walk around. Now, if I have to change batteries it's done at my comfort level without needing a ladder or pulling down the pole with the weather station. Should have started with this - but then I wouldn't have two weather stations with the first one now on fence level with the console next to my bed.

Keep a good WiFi connection
This is a great device for the most part. Accurate conditions but is a bit finicky on placement. I occasionally get alerts that it has lost contact with my network and its base station. Also if you plan to mount it high in the air perhaps 20 feet or so make sure you get the remote power source or remote battery pack. Always use lithium Ion AA batteries. They give far superior service on this device. If you have an irrigation system that adjusts for wind, rain and temperature, this device will give you the best and most accurate information for your irrigation system. Great to share with neighbors who have such irrigation systems. Connection to weather underground is basically seamless and you can easily compare your readings to other stations nearby. The lightening detector is a great safety feature and should be added to your weather station.

A neede Extra
Properly installed this weather unit is up in the air, well above most people's reach even with a ladder. To that end, the addition of the remote battery unit is a godsend. My previous weather unit failed just because after a long time in the atmosphere, the plastic housing warped and even though you could try to replace the batteries, they could not properly fit. This remote battery pack puts the unit at waist height and hanging the batteries is extremely easy.

The AcuRite Battery Pack for the Atlas keeps me on the ground
I am so glad that I got the battery pack. I am at a mature age where I do not want to go on a ladder to get to the batteries in the AcuRite Atlas weather station. This battery pack keeps me safely on the ground. The wire is approximately 30 feet long. That is good enough in my case to run the wire from the weather station, down the mast, and into the shed. The Battery pack came with easy to read instructions and a pile of zip ties. Recommend using AA Ultimate Lithium batteries. They work well in freezing temps. When replacing the batteries, read the instructions in the battery pack. You remove and replace the batteries 2 at a time. That keeps from losing any setups, and provides ongoing communication.

Eats batteries.
The unit works okay most of the time. When it was new a wire connector plug was not connected properly so I needed to trouble shoot that problem by email. They do not have a way to talk to a person. The person I emailed with was very helpful, and we got the unit working. The problem with that is the plug that was assembled wrong is now broken. It still works but needs extreme care when connecting. The female part is broken, and you could attach the pieces improperly. Also, the unit has solar panels to power it but also has batteries. In the previous model I had the batteries would last about a year. This one they last a couple of months. having the unit up high enough and away from things that might upset it makes it verry inconvenient to be changing the batteries. get the remote battery unit.

Great little device. Saves one from having to climb up to the weather station ever time the batteries die. Well worth the price.

Perfect accessory when your weather sensor is 20ft off the ground. Easy to hook up and mount. No need to drag a ladder onto the roof to change batteries. (I really don't.like heights)

This battery pack works well. The ti-raps that come with it don't work well. Should have added this when I bought the Atlas.
