Sadie is staying temporarily with boyfriend, Pete's cousins, Caro and Rex. To fill in her days, Sadie (who is trying to avoid a death threat from her days in Boston, MA,) joins up at an archaeological dig in Santa Fe. Losing herself in the beauty of the pottery, Sadie is shocked when the dig finds recent burials. As Sadie's dig partner disappears, and more secrets come to light, it is time for Sadie to find a new safe place, but not before she is arrested for a bar fight. The locations are amazing, and Ms. Kilpack's ability to paint the scenes makes you feel you are running (away from the villains,) alongside her character. There are many twists and turns and heroes are found where you least expect them. To cap off the fast-paced, action filled, not to mention page turning adventure, Sadie is fond of baking and cooking. To my delight, each novel in the series, contains mouth watering recipes which we have actually tried. Next up...Baked Alaska! Review: Another Delicious Read - With this book, Kilpack shows increased skill in crafting a good story. The clever use of flashback (or flash forward in this case) keeps the suspense through the whole novel. I have been to Albuquerque many times, so the location was a draw, and the characters seemed fairly well rounded. The onlly thing I couldn't stomach was the cupcakes...they sounded too sickeningly sweet to eat.

Another Great Story
I love this series, so I was happy to see another installment about Sadie and her adventures. There was suspense, as well as Sadie's propensity of getting herself into scrapes and then resourcefully finding a way out. The only thing that was a little disappointing this time around was the collection of recipes. I usually come away from each of these books with at least two or three recipes I can use in my family's meal rotation, but this time, I didn't really find any I would use. But really, that is a small consideration and the I recommend these books highly.

Great!
Super good book. I bought it used and it was in great condition. Although I’m not too picky on that.

The best of the series
I think this is the best one of the series. I could hardly put it down, which I had to do since I read in bed at night. I like the fact that it took place in the SW USA where I am originally from, was filled with fantastic Mexican recipes, had a story line that seemed more real than the a few of the others and held my interest. I enjoy Kilpack's style of writing.

Sadie just keeps getting better!
Thoroughly enjoyed Tres Leches Cupcakes. Sadie just keeps getting better! She is so relatable as a human being & I love that about her. Josi Kilpack is always able to put in just enough twists to keep life with Sadie from seeming like a repeat. I love the different locations she brings to life, and, of course, the great recipes.

Kilpack Bust
This book was not up to her usual standards. A little bit boring. She has written other books that I really liked, but this one seemed a hurry up job !

Great option for a low-intensity mystery
I enjoy these books because they have just enough mystery to keep me guessing and enough surprise turns to keep me intrigued. They're great, easy reads and....come on.....who doesn't want to read a book that has great recipes in it?!!!! I've made several things from her series and they're delicious! I will admit that I liked some of the earlier books in the series a bit more, but I would still recommend this.
