I've suffered from cold sores on and around my mouth since I was a child and have tried every OTC medication/topical and home remedy imaginable. Everything short of getting a Valtrex prescription. This stuff is the holy grail of cold sore treatments for me. Sometimes I have outbreaks that sync up with my period and as long as I can apply this to the affected area as soon as I feel that dreaded tingling sensation, it likely won't even blister. Apply at any stage of a cold sore to significantly shorten healing time and sooth pain and itching. It comes in a pretty small tube, but don't let that scare you away. You don't need a whole lot and it stays for a while. I always try and have a tube on hand for when I need it. You really can't beat the price for the results since I can't find it in stores anymore.

This is my FAVORITE cold sore lip care and treatment brand! I genuinely swear by this brand as it has significantly helped to reduce my symptoms and prevent the uncomfortable side effects of cold sores. This product is super moisturizing and is totally worth the money. I personally love the texture of both the lip balm and lip treatment as it seems to be super beneficial in keeping the cold sores from surfacing. 100% recommend if you are looking for a lip balm and treatment that reduce (and prevent) the side effects of cold sores.

I to take on a trip to Lima, Peru, for hiking… I also purchased a new pair of shoes that I did not think would give me blisters… I did get blisters, and this ointment really worked in a short time… Basically overnight, was all I needed and never really experienced a lot of pain

I have an allergic reaction to tocopherol (synthetic Vitamin E). This lip balm does not contain any tocopherol . I am so happy to have found this lip balm. My lips have been in excellent shape since I started using it several months ago.

Not only does this moisturize my lips, but if I put it on at night when I wake up my lips are PLUMP. Not sure why it does this. It works better than any plumper product I have ever used before. I got this for the prevention of cold sores and I use it at least one or twice a week. But the plumping effect is a very nice bonus and I have been telling everyone! I will never stop buying this.

This was helpful when I felt the common tingling sensation prior to a full-on cold sore. Quick and continued application often meant it would not appear. However, when this was used as the sole treatment during a breakout, it was painful (due to being in stick form, not ointment) and did not seem to help with pain or decrease the amount of time it lasted. Will keep current stick for preventative measures, but will not likely use during breakouts.

Great product! I’ve never had a cold sore before but I had an allergic reaction to another lip product I used and this Herstat had my lips feeling back to normal in about 2 days. I’ve continued using it because I like the texture (it feels kinda waxy, but not in a bad way) and I find I don’t have to reapply as often as I do with my other lip balms.

Its like blistex but better! Been buying for 3 years couldnt tell you how many ive bought now. They are great and massively reduce the frequency of coldsores from 6 or more a year to maybe 2 a year. They have a coldsore cream too that works amazing 👏🏻 They can take my money any day!

Unlike some other lip balm, this keeps my lips hydrated overnight and my lips are so soft in the morning. A bonus on top of cold sore prevention.
