Better sound quality than Galaxy Buds+! Better customer support too!
I was shopping for a pair of wireless earbuds to complement my new Samsung phone, which didn't have an aux jack (Still pisses me off). I decided to go for the Outlier Air Gold since they weren't in the three digit price mark and had a $10 dollar off coupon at the time. I got a pair of Galaxy Buds+ shortly after purchasing these, not because I was dissatisfied with the experience these provided, but because another family member without Prime wanted a pair of wireless headphones and I took it as an opportunity to compare products.A couple of negatives to note:-The buttons on the earbuds are too hard to actuate comfortably. This has be rectified in any future product Creative plans to sell. I had to learn how to press on the earbud on either side without getting the sensation that I was pressing into my ear drum. This is by far the worst detail about the buds. The Buds+ easily beat the Outliers in this category, with touch sensitive ends making actuation effortless.-The Outliers may make your ear canal sore due to the way they simply hang on by friction around the ear canal. The Buds+, IN THEORY, have a much better way of securing themselves to your ear but my right Bud+ keeps pulling itself out, like a boyfriend without commitment.-The way the earbuds connect to the phone just taken out of the case seems clunky. The earbuds work by having one earbud function as the main receiver from the phone then relay the audio signal to the other earbud. This works fine but when I take the buds out of their charging case, I'll frequently hear the buds fighting for dominance to be the main unit. "CONNECTED/ DISCONNECTED" can be heard repeated from both buds; it's almost like when two people call themselves at the same time. When I play whatever media I had lined up, I find the buds work fine. I'm only comparing this experience to the Samsung Galaxy Buds I bought after these came in. The Galaxy Buds+ pop up a small window on screen confirming the Buds+ have connected to the phone. I'm not sure if the Buds+ do this with all phones or only Samsung phones like mine though.-The charm of the glowing blue ring wears out quickly and I would have chosen the black Outlier Air, if it were not for the increased battery life on the Outlier Golds.=A strike for both sides: No ambient sound on the Outliers. Not much of a negative for me since I didn't like ambient sound on the Buds+ either. The most minute sounds came through the Buds+, like the crinkling of your clothing. This is more of a negative on the Buds+, honestly.Positives:+Battery life. The Outlier Gold truly beats the Galaxy Buds+ in this category. They advertise 14 hour total battery life and I believe them. I work in a hospital and the Outliers consistently beat the Buds+ in how much life was left between the case and the earbuds. I would use the Outliers more and have more battery life to spare than the Buds+. Additionally, at the time of this writing, I feel the Buds+ have degraded in terms of battery life despite not having as seen much use.+Audio quality. The Outlier Gold has the Buds+ beat on audio quality. I was disappointed with how underwhelming the Buds+ delivered for earbuds that cost three digits, even with a sound equalizer in their app.I haven't tried the Super X-Fi software from Creative since I stream the majority of my content but I'll gladly update this review if it's something to write home about. If they could get that working somehow for streaming media instead of only saved audio files and it's as good as they say, I'd recommend it.+CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. I had an issue with my Outliers, where the small screen filter at the end of the bud that's inserted into the ear canal came off. I purchased my Outlier Gold in May, submitted an RMA in August, took my sweet time actually mailing the things back because I liked using them so much and got a replacement back within a week. This was simply going through the RMA process on Creative's site, no threats, no pushback, no broken links. Incredibly straightforward and simple. For this refreshingly consumer friendly reason alone, I'll be coming back to see what Creative has to offer.Long term ownership follow-up 10/21: The Outlier Gold buds still have great sound and great battery life. However, two issues will most likely come up.The first issue: the small round screen filter at the end of the earbud where the sound is directed into your ear, will most likely fall out at some point. My second RMA pair had this issue just like my first pair. The screen clogs up in the effected earbud and sounds muffled or the volume sounds lower. Trying to unclog or clean the small filter only makes it unglue from its position and resecuring it is impossible. I didn't try to RMA it again, as I figured this was a design flaw and my earbuds worked fine otherwise.Second issue: the black plastic which covers the button on each earbud, surrounded by the blue ring, also fell out on each earbud. The blue light rings just reveal the circuit board inside of each earbud. This happened well after a year of using these earbuds. They still function normally but just aren't aesthetically pleasing, with exposed circuit board and plastic not being the intentional look.I would still recommend these over the Galaxy Buds+ though. The Galaxy Buds+ slowly lost their maximum volume for no explicible reason after a couple of months and when I attempted an RMA the Buds+, Samsung's 'solution' was to repair them for the price of new ones. While I am looking for a new pair of wireless headphones, I am also debating if I should get a new phone with an audio jack to avoid the headache of wireless audio product quality. But due to their superb customer service, especially compared to Samsung's, I'll always consider Creative's offerings if I'm ever in the need for a wireless pair of headphones.

Fabulous value, wears after a year of use
I've had these earbuds for about a year now, and I love them. For wireless earbuds, you probably can't beat the price. I've used it both paired to a Google Pixel XL (2016) and a OnePlus 7 Pro (2019).First and foremost: the most impressive thing about these earbuds is the battery life. It really is as incredible as advertised. I've used these earbuds almost continuously over a long flight across the United States, and still had a fair amount of charge when I finally reached my destination after the Uber from the airport, and the backup charge in the case would have kept me going even after using that. If you need earbuds that can go for most of your day, these should at least be on your list. The case itself is great, a piece of aluminum with a slide-out drawer that holds the earbuds. I appreciate that it uses USB-C, which allows my phone charger to pull double duty rather than requiring another cable format.I'm no audiophile so I can't really speak authoritatively on that subject, but to my ears, the earbuds sound excellent. They sound far nicer than cheaper earbuds I've had in the past, with a well-balanced, open sound stage. One thing these aren't are bass heavy. I certainly listen to bass-heavy music, but if you want something that can really power those notes, you might want to look into something else. These are more neutral.Connectivity with Qualcomm aptX is great. I can go all the way into another room before I start experiencing any skipping. There are a couple downsides of course,The buttons for touch controls are a little stiff. Instead of tapping on the earbud, you have to physically depress the button built into each one, which is a little annoying. The Super X-Fi software isn't super useful. It's interesting, and I enjoy the listening experience, but it only works with music you have locally on your phone; it can't reprocess music you stream from Spotify. It's fun to play around with and I use it sometimes, but it hasn't become a major part of my everyday music experience. I hope at some point it becomes offered as a plugin to other music player software.Lastly, they are slightly on the larger side. I didn't find this as much of a problem as other reviewers, but they do fill your ears, and you don't forget that they're in there. If you have smaller ears you might want to take that into consideration. Finally, and after a year, though I havent been objectively tracking this, I think the sound is wearing out a little. The right earbud, in particular, lacks power compared to the left earbud. To use these in any noisy area, such as working out you have to boost the volume and equalizer settings to the max. That's fine for the price, but I might be in the market for more dedicated workout/outdoor earbuds. These are absolutely fine for indoor listening or lighter, quieter exercise, but they're priced as they are for a reason. These just can't compete with more powerful products.Despite those minor negatives, I still think these great earbuds are some of the best you can get under $100. The additional up to 4 hours of playtime per charge may also be worth the premium above the Creative Outlier Air.

Super product from Creative
I have been using this for 2 years.Pros:-Best battery life. There was not even a single incident where my earphone out of charge. I use it for my entire online course for the day, workout in the evening and for movies at night.-High volume-Crystal clear and nice audio-Passive noise cancellation. I selected the correct tip for my ear canal. Majority of the noise get blocked from this tight placement.-Sweat and light rain is not at all an issue for this earphoneCons:-Controls are not touch. They are buttons. Over usage of buttons resulted to pop out the black button cover off. And I had to glue them.-Speaking over the phone is not at all great. Some times, the other person can't hear my properly.-Little bit bulky and if I shake my head vigorously, it comes off from ear.So I am planning to upgrade to Outlier Pro very soon which has ANC and 15 hr battery and clear conversation technology.

I’m happy at last!
I went through 3 sets of wireless earbuds before I finally found these ones. My teenagers have AirPods, but they just aren’t comfortable in my ears. I wear one wireless earbud to bed every night because I like to listen to meditations on YouTube as I drift off to sleep. The battery life of the previous sets of Bluetooth earbuds I had was approx 3-4 hrs, and then I would be startled awake by a voice that says “battery low”.These ones claim 14hrs of battery life on a single charge! I’ve had them for several weeks now and I sleep 7-9hrs wearing them every night and have had no low battery voice or anything waking me up.The reason I gave these a 4 out of 5 overall is that you really can’t walk more than 5 feet away from your device without the earbuds disconnecting, and I wish they were a little more low profile — the red and blue lights are a bit cheesy. But wow the battery life can’t be beat! So glad to have found these.
