Internet Gaming is Supposed to be HOT -- But Your Routers Should NOT
The ubiquitous home Internet router, is usually left running 24 hours a day; even when we are not home. After all, you'll never know when Alexa, Google, or God forbid Ring or Astro, has to tell you something "really important." As broadband speeds get faster, so do the bandwidth demands of the devices we connect to our routers. Whether we own VR headsets, Recast or TiVo units, or even gaming consoles & computers; at some point, we breakdown and purchase a gaming router. Gaming routers are no Raspberry Pi -- as some routers can contain up to 8 CPU cores, which is almost as many as the typical gaming PC or console -- and THEY ARE USUALLY FANLESS. If you were to take a contactless thermometer, and compare the ambient room temperature (when you are home) against the operating temperature of your gaming router; you will typically notice a difference of about 20'F or more. The typical gaming router begins to throttle at 104'F followed by a thermal shutdown at 110'F. Anyone who owns a smartphone has already experienced "heat anxiety," when finding themselves in warmer than usual environments. When we are not at home, the ambient room temperature in the typical house or apartment can be 87'F or more. And this is NOT GOOD for the typical gaming router. The GDSTIME cooling fan(s) have a surface area of 90.25 square inches (9.5" by 9.5"), which is sufficient to comfortably fit under most "dead spider" gaming routers. During operation the fan speeds are synchronized; there is no detectable fan harmonic (beat) noise, and the overall fan noise is well below the ambient noise level of the typical home, even at night. When the fan speed adjustment control is at about 66%, there is only a measurable difference of about 10'F between the ambient room temperature and that of my gaming router. As you can see from my pictures; the cooling unit is meant to be repairable, should the need arise to replace any of the fans. Because of the way the unit is constructed; it contains no built-in strain relief for the fan power cables. I strongly recommend using a cable tie, to prevent "bad things" from happening. Other than that, the GDSTIME cooling fan unit is a must-have for any gaming router installation.

Super helpful
This keeps multiple drives cool, which helps me feel comfortable running them overnight or for days in a row. I love that you can adjust the power easily. It's durable, quiet, and doesn't shake.

Perfect solution for Mac Mini
Received in great cosmetic and working condition. Turns out to be the perfect solution for cooling down the 2018 Mac Mini. I was totally surprised with the results. On average, the Mac Mini usually stays around 146 degrees and very warm to the touch. Since using the fan base cooling system, it now stays below 100 degrees. I couldn't ask for a better solution.

Works great for overheating router
I recently had switched from comcast to quantum fiber and was having intermittent connectivity issues. My router and modem are in the closet and ai live in Tucson. I suspected that I was having some overheating issues. This had solved my problem. I no longer have connectivity issues since putting this in place. It isn't the quietest but the video makes it sound like a jet engine. It isn't nearly as loud as it appears. I don't hear it at all with the closet door closed. It has a variable speed but I run it at max.

Excellent cooler for your electronics
I love the size and I place my old mac mini on it. Uses an ac adapter and has a lot of fan speeds. I wish it were USB powered instead but would lack the power, but overall it's a solid product.

Impressive item
Waoo. First thought is looks ordinary, like an office equipment, dont have RGB ligths, ok don’t even have a led light. But taking away that, it feels and looks heavy, durable and made with great quality material. What about cooling? This is the 1st cooling pad that really keep my 2018 Mac Mini cool. Even when I put some pressure on it this thing don’t give up, my Mac stays cool, really cool. This is by far the best cooling pad I ever try or purchased. 2nd thought was, it is expensive for and ordinay item that I don’t even know if it will work, but I give a chance having a mindset that I can return it. That didn’t happened Im in love with this thing that is taking care of my Mac. It worth every penny I expend on it. Highly recommended for demanding devices. By the way the dimmer works great.

As Cool as a Cucumber!
The cooling fans arrived safely and was as described. Setup was easy but I wasn't too keen on the wiring job in the back. I decided to zip-tie a portion of the power cable to one of the feet, and another around the loose wires, making them a bit more snug. This should help prevent snags, and alleviate any load-bearing weight from the cable + adjustable speed controller. As you can see by the attached pics, my router was running HOT-HOT-HOT! The 2.4 GHz & 5GHz radio's were cooking at temps of 120°F-126°F, and the CPU was a scorching 150°F! As soon as I cranked the fan speed to full throttle the temps started dropping almost immediately. After 10 min. or so the temps are hovering around 100-109°F. It definitely met my expectations and curious what the summer will bring ; )

Does a great job of cooling Apple Mac Mini with expansion hub!
I bought the GDSTIME cooling fan to cool both my Apple Mac Mini M2 and the Quiizlab USB C hub I attached. I originally had the Mac Mini sitting atop the expansion hub but both devices would get very warm. By placing the Mac Mini atop the fan array and the expansion hub below, both devices stay cool. I’m very happy with this purchase and it works great!
