Review: WAY better than I expected - When I shoot at a range I use electronic ear protector "muffs". Beginning this year I began shooting with a North-South Skirmish Association team and we have to wear traditional uniform hats while on the line. I quickly found that muff-type protectors didn't work, so I looked for alternatives. I chose the Decibullz because you could fit them yourself and they were reasonably priced. After spending a day with 75-100 other shooters firing at the same time I found these to work exceptionally well. Later, on a modern range, I tried them in comparison to my electronic muffs. I was surprised to find them actually better at reducing sound - but poorer at allowing me to hear conversations. I purchased the earbuds with the neck cord. I would recommend that if you want to be able to hear someone speaking with you. There is a plug in the earbud that can be removed (and then easily put back in place). It seems like a lot less likely to drop or lose that plug if it's tied onto a cord around your neck - just sayin'
