This 80W system is great for charging 12V or 24V batteries in a motorhome, boat or for any off-grid application. The panels are fitted with 5m of special solar cable with waterproof MC4 connectors. The waterproof design ensures that the solar panels can be used in all weather conditions. These panels also feature innovative 5 busbar solar cells, which are more efficient than other solar cells, resulting in a smaller solar panel. The kit includes a 10A dual battery solar charge controller designed for independent charging of 2 x 12V or 24V batteries or battery banks. The controller uses PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) technology which increases charge acceptance and prolongs the life of your batteries. The controller has many safety functions such as protection against reverse current, overcharging, short circuit, reverse polarity etc. The controller allows setting charging priority e.g. 80% of power to go to the first battery and 20% to the second. When one of the batteries is fully charged, 100% of power goes to the other battery. The kit can work with a single battery too - in this case the controller will automatically pass 100% power to one battery. Connection of 2 x 40W solar panels: - in parallel ("+" to "+", "-" to "-") for a 12V system - in series ("+" of one panel to "-" of the other panel, and the other "+" and "-" to the solar controller) for a 24V system.
