Best value OEM Motor: easy install great quality
Perfect factory replacement: same colored wires, same length and heavier gauge. Motor runs surprisingly quiet. System works more efficiently, uses less electricity and cools house faster and with less run time. Capacitor and contactor were replaced at the same time to protect the new motor.

Worked great - some modifications required
Well built, heavier duty wires than OEM - maybe that is NEMA code changes over the years but they were definitely larger duty wires., connectors were nice and tight. The condenser was american standard brand. This is a carrier motor, I figured a motor is a motor. OEM had cast in threaded holes to hold to the fan guard. Had to drill new holes, its sheet metal so not hard, the motor case fasteners on the new motor here had plenty of length and design is for a flat mount, went in just fine. Used washers and loctite red to secure with new nuts (don't forget the loctite you newbies, secondary locking feature in a vibe environment is a fine practice). The shaft length of this motor is a little shorted than OEM but I set the fan set screw at the end of the shaft and it was just fine. Installed it all back together with no issues. Wire colors were different so I had the start cap wires reversed originally, no biggie, it just ran backwards, easy fix to swap terminals. All done and a cold beer later, its working like a champ. Motor looks to be well built and should outlast my ancient compressor. So for a hundred bucks and an hour, well worth it.

Wow, great replacement motor!
Needed to replace a dead fan motor (part number 5KCP39DGJ281S) on a 30+ year old ac condenser. The existing motor part number / exact specs are no longer available. At first I chose another "overseas" dirt cheap choice primarily because it was available next day and secondarily because it had a longer shaft which gave me more room for error in the fit up. Unsurprisingly, that motor didn't work! Wouldn't turn on and didn't have proper continuity with testing the leads, also worth mentioning it didn't have the proper drain holes and came with the motor studs assembled in the wrong orientation. This motor however, works! It fits great, the lead wires are the same thickness as my 30+ year old quality GE motor, it has a drain hole, came ready to go and fired right up! Not sure how long it will last, but for the price and the quality that I can see and feel, I'm quite happy!

Simple, inexpensive repair
Works great. Our system is over 30 years old and my husband occasionally replaces little parts here and there and our A/C is like an Arctic blast. Don't spend thousands of dollars to get a new system. Everything so far on our old Carrier has been replaceable with inexpensive parts and easy straightforward repair time.

got it to fix my AC unit
it's pretty much Plug and Play I'll keep you guys updated it runs 24/7 at 64° f in Florida I'll keep a reasonable log whenever there's issues or stops working because I will probably come back to Amazon and I'll adjust and time stamp everything for you guys I did install it today 6-5-23 but I'll do my best to keep you guys updated and let you know if there's any capacitor issues fan issues or compressor issues. 7/31/2024 so today I herd a load buzzing wasint sure if it was from the power fluctuations or the compressor I do live in Florida and it is one of the hottest days of the year and my house is currently at 81 but I currently have my AC set to 70 because $500 electric bill XD but I heard a loud humming or buzzing and I went outside and checked on it everything looked like it was working I got cold air coming through the vents just wanted to keep you guys updated I've had it for about a year and I haven't had any issues I didn't break off a bolt while installing but that's no big deal she's still working perfectly fine but $150 is better than paying $700 which is what they quoted me just to replace the fan which is ridiculous I'll keep you guys updated if anything happens realistically I'll probably repurchase this fan if this fan goes

Update: Fan failed after three years
Like everyone else that buys this motor, my previous fan motor was making a loud squealing sound and it sounded like it was about to fail real soon. I looked up the part number and Amazon produced this result. It's an exact match. I watched a youtube video on how to install it. My only gripe is it said it would come with a capacitor, but it wasn't a big deal since the one they had picture wasn't quite the one I needed. I got everything installed and it ran perfectly the first time I turned it on. It's been a month since I've installed it, so it's humming right along. UPDATE: The motor has failed. I bought this in April 2022 and it failed late July 2025. I expected several years of use. This motor replaced my OEM fan on a Carrier that lasted 22 years! I'm still using the same AC unit and the only I had to replace so far was the fan, but I'm disappointed in the lack of longevity from this motor.
