As an avid journaler, having a reliable pen is important. The rosewood pen is an attractive pen of high quality. It's body is made of brown wood grain with gold trim, and the gripper is sleek black with a gold tip. The pen comes in a sturdy black storage case with an ink refill. It fits comfortably in my hand and glides smoothly across the paper. On traditional lined notebook paper there is minimal bleed through to the back. However, when I tried my higher quality journaling paper there was none. Due to its attractiveness and quality, I would recommend it for business and personal needs.

The pen and accompanying refill are very nicely packaged, arriving in a lovely black box. This makes the pen perfect for gifting!My first impression of the pen was that it appeared more expensive than the $7.99 that it cost. The wood grain is unique and fancy feeling.As a creative writer, I am always on the hunt for a good quality pen to write and doodle. The pen feels solid and is comfortable to use. The wood flows down to a smaller, black smooth grip. Writing with the pen has been lovely because the black ink comes out smoothly and dries quickly.In the short time I have owned this pen (2 days), it has become a favorite.*I received this product in exchange for an honest review.*

I don't normally write bad reviews. In fact this is the first review that I can ever remember writing that is not a five star review. However, I think it is worth noting, more so to the seller than a potential buyer. As an avid writer myself, this was to be a gift to my young daughter, along with a journal. Part of the appeal of this purchase, for me, was the "gift" type box that the pen is packaged in. While I have absolutely no problem with the product inside, it's the quality control that went into the packaging that leaves much to be desired. The box arrived wrapped in sealed plastic. And then inside the shipping container, which had no damage. There was no damage whatsoever to the plastic, so therefore it is only conceivable that this pen was packaged this way, by someone, knowing the obvious damage to the box. I realize this grievance might seem petty. But, this was to be an elegant gift to my young daughter whom is also an aspiring writer, just as I was at her age. It is my belief that this was carelessly allowed to pass through any quality control efforts that the company might have in place. The end result being, my long thought out gift arriving crushed and quite unattractive. I am terribly disappointed as this blunder could have very easily been preventable. The end result of this blunder being; my special gift to my daughter looking as if I picked it up from a dollar store clearance rack. I haven't given it to her yet, and I do not know if I will. I live in a rural area and my options are terribly limited in purchasing a comparable product locally, within the time frame that remains. The pen itself is as advertised and of a high quality for the price. But, this carelessness in the packaging has all but ruined my once in a lifetime special gift to my young daughter. This could have very easily been avoided, and has left me in quite a spot.

This pen is beautiful, and I love writing with it, but I have a couple issues with it. The cartridge that came in it dried up within three days with minimal writing, so hopefully the spare cartridge will last longer. The other issue is that it constantly feels sticky. I first noticed it after two days of use, and since then, no matter what I do, it stays sticky. I have cleaned it with a soapy rag multiple times and have scrubbed it with alcohol several times, yet it still feels tacky. I’m hesitant to try to sand whatever it is away, but if it doesn’t clear up, then I might.

It was for my grandson's birthday. He absolutely loved it, said it was something he could keep & treasure forever as a remembrance of us & his 25th birthday. Very elegant with a refill. For someone who loves writing instruments it's perfect!

This pen exceeded my expectations! At first, I was a bit apprehensive about buying a single pen for more than a dollar or two. I’m not really an avid writer, and I can get by just fine with the cheap plastic pens you can find at CVS and Staples. But this pen has changed my perspective! It writes so smoothly and elegantly, and it feels good in my hand while I write. I have to buy thin-tipped pens because my handwriting is very small, and the tip of this pen is perfect for me. When I write, the words don’t look all scrunched together because the pen is so fine that each letter stands out clearly without blurring or smudging. I also really like the added touches in the presentation. For example, the pen comes with a refill cartridge that has a little cap on it so that it doesn’t dry out. Additionally, the cap of the pen doesn’t have a way to clip onto the end of the pen when you’re writing, which I think is nice for this particular pen because I would be worried that the cap would scuff up the wooden exterior. The box is very sleek too, and the whole presentation of the pen in the box is so elegant that I would expect it to be more expensive than it is. I got this pen in walnut, but I think I will be getting some other colors as gifts for my friends and family this holiday season!
