Works for my aquarium
I use this in my 37 gal tall aquarium to help my emersed plants (ferns, nerve plants). This works really well. I prob lose .25 inch on the waterline about every 2-3 days running it constantly. So it is very easy to maintain. Creates a really cool natural look. I havenโt had any issues with it yet. I do like that the cord is very long too. Will probably purchase another for my shallow aquarium.

Works great, but donโt touch it because it gets hot!
Works great!

Lowish mist vapor, spits around a bit.
The mister works. The cord seems to be long enough to use without extensions. I have 2 of them. It creates mist but not exactly a plume of it. However they do seem to splash a bit a water around, best case I thought of was to cut a plastic bottle and add open cuts/decent sized holes to let the vapor out but keep the water splash from getting everywhere. I've also noticed the mister seems to like hot water more for producing vapor. Overall they seem decent, can't say how long they'll last but they do alright. Can't say I'd recommend but I'd say good to start and mess around with, if it breaks no big loss. There's likely better misters out there, however you may also like that this one doesn't create a plume of vapor, if you want some vapor without clouds, these one's should work for you.

Messy and malfunctioning
This was just terrible from the start. You have to submerge it just perfectly (1 inch and parallel to the surface) to get it to fog. When it does, it shoots water straight up along with the fog and gets everything in the vicinity wet. Came in a box that featured and pictured a mist maker with LED lights.

Way over my expectations!!!
This was better than I thought it was gonna be! This item offers very high-quality missing very easy to set up just a little plug-in in a thing to put water in. Put it in plug it in done !making mist! It shut soft when water is low, but it lasts a long time. I recommend this.

Works
It does spit water all over the place so I made holder out of a plastic bottle with a vent to allow the fog to leave it

Works perfectly
Reading the reviews it appears a lot of people didn't do their research, first you have people complaining it splashes, this it what these do, don't believe me take the lid off any humidifier you have while it's running. It's not a water fountain being falsely advertised or incorrectly advertised, it's an ultrasonic transducer or atomizer, it operates at a frequency that frees the water molecules from the water to create the mist you see. Also if splashing is such an issue, if people did their homework you'd know there is these little "gazebo" looking things you can get that you place them in to redirect the splash back downward, you can buy them separately or find one that comes as a kit. The other thing was people calling it an electrical hazard, well if your clumsy and don't know how to keep water away from your electrical components then yeah, sure, it's a hazard, normally common sense can prevail. I also cant help but think people are submerging them in too deep of water, this will cause it to not work, and even says so in the instructions, so if at first you added to much water and its not working, just remove a bit of water and try again. The product is well built, sturdy and when used accordingly is perfect for little DIY projects (plenty of youtube videos with great ideas) and the price is actually really good. The adaptor comes with a mid way connector, so you don't have to unplug it every time you need to fill the water back up or do whatever, you can just disconnect the midway connector and do what you have to do and then just snap it back in again which is really handy.

Stopped working
Look used with water spots out of the box. Box was mislabeled. Worked the initial use and stopped after that. Adapter made funny noise.

You can easily fix these if the ceramic disc breaks. You can buy replacement discs.
It's easy to replace the ceramic discs and I like that. Ceramic breaks pretty easily so you've got to expect that if you're familiar with these foggers. Luckily the discs are inexpensive. What I don't like is that there are none that have a big enough disc and run at a low enough setting to produce 50 micron droplets instead of these fine mist 1-5 micron droplet ones. Plants uptake nutrients really well at 50 microns and bigger droplets are less likely to penetrate deep into the lungs either and cause pneumonia. We need a 40mm - 50mm version maybe with a dial that corresponds to the resulting droplet size for this technology to take off for fogponics which could be an emerging market in the hydroponic growing community.

Cool effect but lacks quality
It does create a cool mist effect but it sprays water up. I wanted it for a witches cauldron but the spraying water kind of killed that vibe and also created a watery mess.

Works great but
As stated this need to have about 1 inch of water over top of it to trigger the sensor and make it turn on. So yes, it turns itself off when water level is low. Creates lots of smoke but spits water in air. Be sure to put in a wide bowl or put a guard around it to keep water from splashing out. Be advised this does make smoke from water so it will over time get things the smoke touches wet.
