My 19 year old car is in very good conditio. Amase offers the perfect replacement. Instructions are almost all pictorial to overcome worldwide sales. There are telltale signs that help you know if your car has DSP. Research this before buying this product. This is good to know if you want to tie this radio into the existing car amplifier, speakers, and subwoofer. The Amase Radio has a multichannel speaker output if you choose to hardwire each car speaker and bypass the original equipment. There is also a RCA multichannel output if you want to add a new amplifier. It has taken many years of loyal BMW forums to pursue understanding the iBus and CanBus. This understanding is the key to making your old car very up to date. My choice was to re-enable the DSP amplifier that came with the car using the referred Resler iBus App. Resler, Germany, takes about a month to receive but well worth the wait. The Resler module awakens features and instrument gauges that the newest automobiles do not offer in the radio, key fob, instrument cluster and steering wheel. Amase customer service takes your installation very seriously. Though they are in China, they will answer problems during their work hours. Be understanding if you ask for help. There is no one installation standard because worldwide BMW designs vary. Installation took two days. Waiting for the Resler module took about a month. Be patient and don’t give up!

I was on the fence for a while about replacing my radio, it sounded terrible. I decided on this one based on reviews and functions. Installation was ok, be prepared to drill new holes in the brackets. The mic fits in the overhead where the little grate is. I put the wifi and USB ports in the glovebox. The radio works seamlessly, split screen functionglove box. The best part is the equalizer, my stock speakers have never sounded better. If you're on the fence go ahead and pull that trigger! Update: the Player has stopped working and It doesn't have enough memory or computing power I guess to connect to my phone hot spot to run amazon music anymore. I wouldn't recommend this unit.

I tried to install this unit the biggest headache was getting the BMW ready to install. Removing all the parts needed to get the old unit out was a monster. Once I got the new unit in I could not get it to power up. So I had it installed by a professional took just two hours and it works great, microphone, usb, wi-fi, GPS, radio it all works. Did not have a camera installed in the car but it is ready when I want to do that.

This is a great product! Works seamlessly with the car and its OEM components. My first unit was messed up internally so when I gave it power it started smoking. Be sure to test your unit before mounting it just in case it starts smoking. I returned the bad unit and got a replacement within the next couple days, no argument, no hassle. Customer support was very attentive throughout the whole thing. Once my unit came in it didn’t turn on, which really sucked as I had no radio for a good three weeks. Come to find out, my fuse had blown due to the other unit being faulty. I think 58? Otherwise, I got a new fuse and everything worked just fine after that. Apple CarPlay works, speakers/sound work (use steering wheel controls for louder volume), touchscreen is freaking perfect, and you can download apps like you can on your phone. I highly recommend you DSP users (like myself) to get the extension cord from AMASE to make it work for you. If you get confused, you have to connect to the tuner plug from the aftermarket plug, then take the other aftermarket plug and put it into the tuner. You’ll know what I mean as you’ll have instructions and the plugs go into specific places. Can’t mess it up! 2025 UPDATE: After three years the Apple CarPlay now crashes and doesn’t stay connected. There is also no way to update the firmware as it says “error.” Other than the continuous crashing, I’ve liked this product a lot but since the crashing I’ve lowered my rating from five stars to three stars.

I like how appears factory pretty seamless and has Android OS with wifi, BT, GPS. opening up the potential for use of communication, entertainment and functionality as well if not better than factory options in a brand new car. into a 1997 528i. Plug and play into a vehicle form era where OBDII was just being required into cars.Steering wheel functions work. The unit detects range selector in reverse for back up cam input and screen flips. 4.5 stars because mounting brackets needed new holes redrilled to lower mounting approx 1/4 inch out and down for spaces on top and bottom to be the same. Apperently this is with all manufacturers so I'd rate them all the same for same reason because the actual product is awesome. Do not over tighten the top corner screws, they strip like 1 inch lb. of torque. I ended up adding rivnut inserts 6-32 SAE fine thread. There is potential to add interface from different manufacturer with little modification to existing harness for OBD and coding options.

I had this professionally installed so I can't speak to the ease of installation, however, I am very pleased with this product and the customer service. The CD player quit working after about 2 weeks which was unfortunately after the Amazon return period but within the year warranty. Amaseaudio worked with Amazon to get me a replacement which was easy to swap out. The new unit has been working with no issues. A nice upgrade for a 2003 BMW X5!

I installed the head unit and it works great i have no complaints about it, but after having an issue where my car would die after sitting for one day i went and looked for the issue after doing the process of elimination, i landed last on checking the head unit. I found out it was draining my battery overnight and i don’t know how. No wiring had problems and nothing was grounding the head unit turned off when the car was off but it was still pulling power foe some reason…

I bought this to upgrade my stereo's sound but also to maintain the OEM look which has been the best thing ever. The sound works well with the factory speakers though I feel the sound can be better with upgraded speakers. It does all I need it to do, including android auto. I'm happy with the product.
