Diabetic Portion Plate-

This plate is a great visual that helps me see how big a portion should be. As a newly diagnosed diabetic, that is important. I'm used to eating portions that I thought were reasonable, but this plate showed me how wrong I was. Now, when I make a new recipe, I put it on this plate so I can see how much I should have. I have to say I thought the price was a bit high for a small plastic plate, but I suppose when considering our health you can't pay too much.

I love this plate. I don't actually put food on it, but do keep it where I see it each day, and use it as a reminder and a guide. I have a small plate, same size that I eat off. I am so glad that I bought this. Americans eat way too much these days, setting out the equivalent of two or three servings on a large plate. No wonder there is such a problem with obesity in this country.

It is my daily reminder of what a normal portion of food looks like. I’m losing weight by counting calories. I was so used to seeing large portions, I needed this as an example. I honestly can’t say I’d recommend using it as a dinner plate. But I look at it everyday.

I expected the plate to be thicker and heavier. I also expected that the three compartments would be just that - compartments, divided. This is a flat plate - rather childlike. I'll use it until I find a better quality, divided plate.

It needs to be microwaveable; a must! Otherwise, you have to serve food on it and then transfer to another plate to heat up?

I need more of these plates. I teach nutrition class for diabetics and plates are useful gift.I was not able to find more plates like these when I needed them for participants of additional classes

I bought this plate to give myself a guideline to go by - I had not intended it for use. However my family had other ideas - they have eaten off of it several times and it washed nicely in the dishwasher and still looks good!!

I think the plate is more for visual purposes, rather than for real use.I think its way overpriced for the quality of the plate.I could have just googled a plate portions poster and printed that if I just wanted a visual reference.I am thinking about returning the plate.
