Soooo comfortable and no leaks!
If you want the semi-TMI, girl talk honest review on these, KEEP READING! Okay, these are an absolute game-changer, especially for those with a heavy flow. Let me start by saying, to use these comfortably you should be/should become very familiar with your anatomy and comfortable being able to reach all up in there (if you know what I’m sayin). Inserting it is easy and comfortable, once it was in I truly couldn’t feel it was there at all! I was super pleased with this. This is my first day and I wore them up to 6 hours at a time - probably could have worn far longer because I had ZERO leaks. Now, removal is where things get a little trickier. For me, my vagina had pretty much eaten this thing (LOL) because it goes in pretty far, behind the public bone, and your muscles pretty much enclose around it. To take it out, you basically hook a finger in the rim and pull it out, but because it was so enclosed in there I prefer to fully relax the pelvic floor, and bear down/give a good push. After this, it was soooo easy and comfortable to pull right out. Disclaimer though, when you bear down/relax your pelvic floor like this, it empties into the toilet, and things get a little crime scene-esque on your finger iykyk. I imagine if you didn’t push first and just pulled it out it would be cleaner, but I just do what feels most comfy. If you are super squeamish with blood I gotta say, I wouldn’t recommend this. After my second try, it was already easy/routine. Overall, these are an amazing alternative to tampons and pads and so much better for your health! I’m never going back! Soooo much more comfortable.

Honest Review - from a mom who used tampons, cups and discs
I’ve been meaning to review this product since the very first time I used them. I kept forgetting but I realized I needed to make this review a priority- especially to give input for those of you who are on the fence.Let me start - I have a 15yo and a 4yo. I had a tubal ligation done after my last child was born. My periods have been insane since then. You know the bleeding you have after giving birth - honestly that’s how my periods have been ever since. Prior to having my last child (I was 30 when I had her), my periods had always been light and short. I was super lucky. I had my daughter and my periods have been so heavy ever since. When I say I soak through a super plus tampon in an hour or two on my heaviest days, I mean it. I was not only going through so many tampons, but I was having to wear super absorbent diapers.. I mean pads to catch what leaked because usually 4 out of 7 days that I menstruate, it’s heavy. Not just blood but clots. It’s horrible. Honestly, I consider getting an IUD not to prevent pregnancy, but possibly to lighten my periods because it’s ridiculous. Anyways, about two years ago I started seeing people recommend menstrual cups. I decided to see what the hype was about. They definitely took some trail and error - and even a trip to the urgent care to have one removed that somehow slid sideways and suctioned sideways that made it impossible for me to remove. But even after that, I still used them regularly because they did make it possible to go more than an hour or two without stressing about leaking. On my heaviest days, I was probably going about 4/5hours without having to remove the cup. I was actually happy with that. But even after over a year of using them, sometimes I still had issues with getting the placement correct. I do have a tilted cervix if that makes a difference. Anyways, several months ago I started seeing info regarding these “menstrual discs” that was of course marketed safe and mess free to use during sex. Well I’m not going to lie, that wasn’t the part that intrigued me. The part that made me interested was the fact that it was a flat disc and if it allowed a penis to enter your vagina without issues, I thought maybe I could finally stop using pads and panty liners as back up and use a light tampon instead. There were two brands at the time this brand and another. I went with this brand because it was cheaper and had two more discs included. In my mind I was thinking about how I’m usually menstruating for 7 days and these say they can work up to 12 hours - so I am thinking these would get me through my heaviest days at least, even if I’m having to remove way before 12 hours. So I ordered them and they arrived. When I first opened one, I did get a little shocked by the size. I mean I’ve had two kids but the size was intimidating. However, they’re flexible and when you squeeze it together to insert, it’s not bad at all. There is a time here and there that it may hurt just a tiny bit inserting because the length when squeezed together is quite long but once it’s in, it is so easy to position in place. You just take your finger and push the lip that’s closest to the front of your vagina until it kind of hooks behind your pelvic bone. Reading the instructions didn’t make sense until I actually inserted it and felt my pelvic bone and realized what they were talking about. But it slides right behind there and once it’s there I feel absolutely nothing. It is amazing. And let me say that even on my heaviest day, I’m probably able to keep it in for about 8-10 hours without leaking. I don’t even use a backup tampon like I originally bought these for because it’s not even needed. These have completely changed my life. I am such an active person and am always doing outdoor things, so to be able to go swimming or hiking etc and not have to stress or cancel because of my period is awesome and game changing. I have yet to have sex with one but honestly, I don’t think I would unless I just put a new one in. The only issue I have occasionally is if I have one in and I am using the bathroom and push down, once in a while it break the seal and everything inside comes pouring out. So I usually just remove it before going and insert a new one when finished. When you remove it, all you have to do is put your finger on the lip and push down like your using the bathroom and pull it forward and it comes right out. I usually pull mine out with my right hand while holding a wad of toilet paper in my left hand, dump the contents into the toilet once I have it out and then slowly place it on the toilet paper, wrap it and toss in the trash. I know this is a lot of TMI but I wanted to be honest and share my experience. I will never use a tampon again. I will never use a cup again unless I happen to run out of these and am waiting for an order to come in. And honestly I never have to wear pads as back up either. If you’re debating - just do it. You won’t regret it. I also included photos of how much liquid these discs can hold compared to a cup. It’s triple the amount. That means if your cup is only getting you through 4 hours, this should get you through 12. Again, they seriously changed my life by allowing me that bit of freedom during the week I’m on my period every month that I never could have before.

The next generation feminine hygiene product!
I was pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of this product. Admittedly, I was nervous and scared to try these but I've read so much about them and I have a very busy schedule that doesn't allow me to use the bathroom often enough during my period to change a tampon (and this product works for up to 12 hours without risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome!). This review will be 100% transparent, raw, and honest so if you are squeamish... look away now. This review will talk openly about the normal, natural, and beautiful female body and the process of making menstruation more comfortable.Firstly, insertion can be confusing and messy, mostly in the beginning. I watched videos on YouTube to help me but, the truth is, you won't really know what you're doing unless you really know your body and are comfortable with it. The videos explained how to insert it, they talked about your cervix, your tailbone, your pubic bone... but where are all of those things inside my body?!? I didn't know!! I highly recommend figuring that out ahead of time if you aren't already aware. Remember: your body is natural, there's nothing to be ashamed of, and it can be empowering to learn and explore your own body.Secondly, every woman is different and every woman's body is different. Your body may change throughout time too. If you have given birth vaginally and/or you have a pelvic floor problem and/or if you have had a prolapse, this will also impact insertion and how the product interacts inside your body. For me, I have to be very careful because of my pelvic floor difficulties - if I cough hard or sneeze hard and I have not physically prepared myself for it, this product can become dislodged from my pubic bone, causing a leakage. If you have not given birth vaginally and do not have any physical problems, you may find that your pubic bone is more pronounced inside your vagina, thus making the product easier for you to use.I was surprised that the product wasn't detectable while in use. It felt as though I wasn't wearing anything! I experienced zero physical discomfort during insertion, removal, or while wearing it. The only discomfort I felt was emotional awkwardness as I tried to figure out how to use it. I do wish that the box came with better instructions but, as stated previously, YouTube is great for that!A few more words of advice:I highly recommend learning about your body before trying this product.Give yourself time and be patient with yourself. Remember that your body is normal, natural, and beautiful.I also can't stress it enough: watch How-To videos. If you will be using public restrooms often while wearing this product, I recommend bringing wet wipes with you. Why? Because it takes a bit of finesse and practice to remove the product without getting blood on your finger(s). Public bathrooms have papery thin toilet paper that will just further frustrate you. If you have a wet wipe, you can easily clean your hand and move on with your life. Once you become at expert at using this product, you may find that you have no need for wet wipes but, as a mother, I feel compelled to nurture all of you by advising that it's better to have the wet wipes and not need them than to not have them and need them. These are certainly the next generation menstruation product! Only a few decades ago, women had to wear belts to hold a giant wingless pad in place. Now we have this product and it's great!
