Best shoe ever!
This time I splurged on this model Mizuno shoe. I had use their running shoe for years and as an old geezer approaching his ninth decade I would have developed plantar fasciitis in a standard shoe. These shoes are great for walking the four to six miles I do daily. My feet are cushioned by the "springs" in the design and don't hurt after my long walks at a brisk pace. I could not be happier, well worth the price and I will soon buy another pair.I wonder if Mizuno ought to think about doing a study on old geezers and if the results are as good as they have been for me, to start advertising them to podiatrists for their patients!

Fit Issue: Shoe does not have a separate 'tongue' in the upper
I specifically bought this shoe because it was recommended for high-insteps and arches. I cannot fathom why. The shoe is a fully integrated piece ... no independent tongue to 'open' the upper, and the lacing is largely for show. Someone with a high instep is likely to have a hard time getting into the shoe, because the material is not stretchy enough to allow room for both instep and heel to fit, as the back lip of the heel is also very high. If someone has wide feet (like I do), you can just forget it.I'd give these at least three stars as the shoe itself seems very well-constructed for someone who could fit into them, but most people looking at reviews only look at the 1 and 5 stars, and I want to warn about the fit issues.I'll be returning these for sure.

These are very Comfortable Shoes
I love the amazing fit and comfort of these shoes. Also unexpectedly they are the only athletic shoes I own across brands that stay tied when you lace them that’s an amazing and unexpected feature. The only thing I don’t like is they are totally unsuitable for an icy or snowy climate and that’s a serious drawback in Colorado. Over the years have worn Nike, ASICS, Sacuony, New Balance, etc., and none were as slippery on snow. Moreover, now I already have 2 pair different styles and both are slippery leading me to think it’s unique to the brand. Nevertheless, these shoes are so effective on dry or wet pavement that they drastically reduce my measured performance times in virtually every category. I love these shoes …I just wish they were better in the snow.I literally boxed up all my running shoes and placed them in the trunk for donation to goodwill. Now I’m like well not so fast you’ll still need others for snowy days. Still these shoes are head and shoulders above all the others I’ve tried over the years and I’m still amazed how I missed them all this time. I had literally never heard of them but turns out they’ve been around for years.

Mizuno Wave Creation Design Change is horrible
First of all, the delivery of the product from the vendor was excellent - quick and pristine. The problem is the actual product. This model of Mizuno Wave Creation (Knit) has no shoe tongue - instead it is a cocoon-like area you slide your foot into. It is extremely hard to slide your foot into - messes up your sock - and the firm upper rim of the cocoon rubs the top of your ankle/foot. What was Mizuno thinking? Nowhere in the product review did it alert me to this design change from past Wave Creations - but this is clearly how the Wave Creation Knit shoe is made. I returned the second pair I purchased in this order since it was unopened, but am stuck with one pair since I did run in them to test if the shoe comfort would improve. It did not.

Complete failure. Couldn't get them to the correct tightness and I can not run in these.
I have run in the Wave Creation series for years and I mostly like them but these are a different design with no tongue. I ran with these for a month trying to get them to work before I gave up. I typically run with my shoes fairly loose but with these my toes were smashing up against the end of the shoe. I next tried tightening the shoes more but the hard plastic pieces that the laces go through were causing pain on the bones on the top of my feet. I could not find a happy medium where they were tight enough to keep my toes from slamming forward but loose enough to avoid pain on the top of my feet. As soon as I went back to my busted up old pair of the more conventionally designed Wave Creation 20s, my feet felt 100% betterI have never given a product one star before but the design of these shoes earned it.

Fit nicely feels very comfortable.
The wave creation 20 knit fit has some changes from the 17's I am currently wearing. The tongue is part of the shoe with elastic. This does make it more difficult to get my foot in and out since I have a high arch. This might be a best fit for someone with a lower arch, but I am making it work.Feels good - I feel a little bit faster in them

Extremely narrow for normal feet
Very disappointed and shocked about this with Mizuno. I worn out Wave creations since model 12 and all have been good so far. This is the first time I tried a knit version as the new model isn't still available, but it's extremely narrow. I don't think a W size would be enough to have a confortable fit, so if you have a normal or wide feet, don't try this model. In the beginning I tough it's a matter of normal material expansion, but I have so far 5 sessions with more than 50km total and it should be enough for an expected expansion, so it's the way the tightness is. I also noticed the sole movement is not harmonic and it feels like the movement is not neutral, it tries to pull from outside to inside, which makes the sole to make a slight correction and more friction of the fit to the sole, so it causes sores, plus the fact of how tight it's. Again, very shocked about and the description should mention this so some of us avoid buying this shoes.

So Disappointed In Mizuno
If you’re going to charge $100+ for running shoes that last roughly six months, they ought to be well made.I saw little difference between these and a off brand you find at discount outlet store. The knit upper and the cheap plastic Mizuno logo surrounding the lacing wouldn’t make it a few months, in my opinion. This would have been my third or fourth pair of Wave Creation’s but I returned them moments after lacing them up.The Wave Creation had historically been the best fit for my long, skinny & very high arched feet, but this version was nowhere near the quality and fit.I would try Mizuno in the future but for now, I moved on to a different brand.
