It was stretchy but not too loose. For me, I normally wear somewhere between a small or a medium. I decided to get the small and when it came in, it fit perfectly! The medium I feel like would've been too big. For my daughter, she just turned 8 and wears size 8 clothing. The description and sizing chart stated that a 7/8 would fit her. I got it in and it looks like it should fit a 5 year old! It is very short. It still fits her (thanks to the stretch) but there's also not a size up for her. The next size would be the same as mine.
