I love Essie base coat, polish, and top coat so much that I take my own to the salon when I get a manicure. These products are such beautiful quality that I never want to use any other products on my nails. Most nail products contain many harmful ingredients such as formaldehyde, a known carcinogen. These harmful ingredients are absorbed into our bloodstream. Essie does not contain these harmful ingredients, so they are much safer to use. I'm very happy with how long my manicure lasts. Essie products make my nails stronger and healthier than any other product. And this product is vegan.

This is a very clear, shiny, polish base. I do not see any evidence of yellowing and it has stayed on my nails for several days. It seems to have decreased the amount of splitting and breaking my nails are suffering from. The polish base goes on smoothly and easily. It is light and adds a thin coat of protectant to my nails. I am pleased with this purchase and I believe the value for the cost is worth it.

I really have to say that this is the best base coat that I've ever use! My manicure stays on days longer without chipping.

Between this base coat and Hard as Hoof lotion, I've been able to grow natural nails for a few years now, where I couldn't at any point before. I work a job where I wear nitrile gloves several hours a day (sweat causing polish adhesion issues) and am pretty hard on my hands in general. Tried probably half a dozen other base coats prior to this, and this one extends my polish life on top of helping keep my nails from breaking at work.

I am one of those people that has always suffered from weak brittle nails my whole entire life. I work in an office so I am constantly always banging my nails onto shelves, cupboards, table edges and even carrying boxes so they are extremely vulnerable to breaking and chipping! I tried this Essie Grow Stronger Base coat and it's been holding up well so far! I put two coats on my nails and they feel extremely hard and not flimsy. I really enjoyed using this nail polish. I would definitely would recommend this nail polish if you are looking for stronger, healthier nails. I also love that the nail polish goes on extra smooth and drys fast. There is hardly any smell like other nail hardeners and best of all, it's from the brand I love the most. I am one happy camper and I've got stronger nails now!

Very happy with this base coat. My bottle was full to the top which was nice, I've painted my nails 3 different times now and the bottle still looks brand new. It has a very watery texture but it makes it much easier to apply, make sure you use small amounts. It's easy to smooth out and dries quick. *Edit to add- I just bought another bottle as mine is almost done and the consistency is still great. Has NOT thickened and become unusable like some other products do!!

I really liked the results I got using Essie Strong Start Base Coat because of how fast it dried and starting working after just one use. Most comparable products for nail strengthening need to be used consistently for weeks to feel the benefit, but you can see and feel stronger nails after the first use with Essie Strong Start. Once dry, the nails with strong start base coat on them feel stronger and harder than ones without the base coat, but not so hard or stiff that it feels heavy or uncomfortable. The base coat has a very nice polished look alone on nails, but also provides a great base for a coloured polish. I really like that the formula includes biotin in it, as sometimes taking biotin supplements isn't enough to improve your nail hardness, or takes a long time to see the benefit. I would definitely recommend this Essie Base coat to everyone no matter your nail condition, and will continue using it often.

I purchased this base coat nail polish because I have short, thin, brittle nails. It is made with biotin, which is a great ingredient for helping your nails grow healthier. I use it without any other polishes on top, and I’ve noticed my nails growing faster, and thicker ( they don’t crack as easily ), in just a few days! This base coat doesn’t wear off easily or chip either. I clean a lot so my hands are constantly getting wet, and it holds up great. I am SO glad I decided to purchase this Essie Base coat polish and will definitely purchase it again in the future. I definitely recommend this polish to anyone who has thin nails that could really use a great strengthening product. It’s definitely worth the price!

Nice thin base coat that hasn't chipped. Shiny and sheer. I like the brush. it's a flat wide brush. Completely coats my nail in 3 strokes with no streaks. Dries quickly and evenly within minutes. You can quickly proceed to put the next coat. Easy to remove. Smells like ordinary nail polish in strength.
