The top of the sock tends to coil a bit (I have runner's calves), and some of you may need garters to help support them. But the elastic band at the top of the sock is very tight. I have to move it down to the narrowest part of my ankle, and still it's tight. But I don't mind, since such socks are otherwise hard to find. I don't know why people make socks like that.
