One Of The Most Versatile Lures Available!
I've been using the Acme KastMasters for something like 45 years now but every now and then I lose one to a snag or cut-off so I purchased this as a replacement. I've caught multiple freshwater and saltwater species both when I lived up in the Northeast and down here in South Florida. Everything from freshwater bass and trout to Bluefish, Redfish, Weakfish (saltwater trout), Snook and more. The combination of the profile with the fluttering action and reflectivity mimics all kinds of baitfish and make the KastMaster an exceptional spoon.

Kastmasters are a gold standard for a reason
These are great spoon type lures. The name "Kastmaster" isn't a lie because the shape / weight really lets you cast it out there, which is handy for bank fishing. If I'm fishing a lake, I like to cover different areas, and different depths (cast it out, count to X, retrieve, change X, try again). I usually swap out treble hooks for single as they don't snag as much and fish retention / hook-ups are about the same.

Nice weight for off shore casting, but replacement bucktails (be sure to have on hand)
The lure is great and caught plenty of perch, bass, and sea trout. The salt water did a number on the buck tail. While it is a great lure, be prepared to replace the bucktail after a few uses

Fishing The Gold Castmaster Jig
The gold castmaster jig is by far the best jig since forever. It out fishes any other jig I have ever used. If you are fishing with other jigs and are not catching fish, switch to a gold castmaster jig. You just might like it. I caught 89 trout with one on the Colorado River during the morning and part of the afternoon with the same jig. Naturally I did catch and release all of the trout. Thank you Acme for a super baitRon In Los Angeles

Classic gulf coast saltwater lure
Quality design and construction. Sharp treble hook. If you're looking for a classic lure that catches fish, this is it. Redfish, trout, and flounder!
