TP-029 Lens B Color Blind Glasses Clip-on for Severe Red-Green Blindness

Bought as a gift. Wanted to try a cheaper option instead of dropping $400 on a prescription pair to see how they worked. Work good for outside and brighter days. Not too feasible indoors due to them being very dark. Keep in mind these are for Red/Green colorblindness only.

I got these for my dad. The color correction works. But when he opened them on our cruise, one of the lenses was disconnected and not reconnect-able. It was a huge let down. No hard feelings. But the packaging was so nice that I thought it wouldn’t be possible to open it up to broken glasses. Bummer dude.

I took the color blind test before ordering, and the results showed me being a strong Deutan. After putting on the glasses and taking the test again, it showed me being a mild Deutan. I wouldn't expect a miracle cure from these, but they did help. Everything looks a little more red or pink. I say that as a color blind peson, so go figure. I've only worn them for a day, so maybe things will improve. For now, I am not jumping up and clicking my heels saying, "These things are amazing." I am saying, "Looks a little more red. It looks a little different. I really can't tell if they are doing all that much." I think I am being generous giving four stars. The overall average of three and a half stars on here is probably a good reading of the effectiveness of the product. After having worn them on the water, I will say green navigational markers are darker, and red markers are lighter and brighter. Both are easier to see. That's a real plus for a boater. Almost a year later. After using the clip ons, I decided to get prescrition Enchromas. These are much better than the clip ons. While still not a complete cure (I went from being a strong Deutan to a mild Deutan on both the prescrition and clip-ons.) the prescription lenses are really terrific. I know here I am reviewing the clip-ons, but if you have a benefit from the clip-ons, your benefit from the actual prescritption glasses will be better - really a different experience. I love these things. And customer service at Enchroma is fantastic.

I bought these for my new husband, and he says they do change the colors, but now everything is basically red. He likes the fit and feel, but they did not make him see the actual colors just an overlay of red on everything. I had him take the colorblind test with and without them and he could see more of the numbers, but he was guessing on the parts of the numbers he could see, not that he could see better. The test indicates I purchased the right ones. Don't know what is wrong. Disappointed.

So first off you definitely want to take the quick quiz to make sure you order the correct ones. My husband has severe color blindness and these show him a whole new world!!!! Now he did go to the eye doctor and showed her his clip. She said ppl with color blindness shouldn’t wear these all the time. It confuses the brain bc your used to seeing one way and now you have these new colors which are much brighter now and see other colors a little different. Understandable. These are very nice quality and we don’t regret them one bit. She didn’t say not to wear them, just not all the time. We ordered the clip versus glasses because then he can use them with any prescription glasses. He is a hunter so he is looking forward to deer season so he can see the trail. He’s never been able to see a blood trail before and had to rely on other things like ruffled leaves etc. I highly recommend them, he highly recommends them, just make sure you talk to YOUR eye doctor about how often YOU should wear them. And ENJOY!!!!

Bought for bf who is red green color blind. I was afraid they weren't going to work I cried with anticipation. He said the lawn was one color, now he can see the dead 'brown' spots different from the 'green'. I put him to the test and took red food coloring drops on different items, a piece of wood, on a leaf, on the cement, in sand ....(he's a hunter and could never tell where there was blood) i took him outside and pointed to the objects and said what do you see,? He COULD SEE THE DROPS OF RED!! But what's green red and brown to him are probably different if I were to classify those colors with my 'normal' eyes right? He says he uses the glasses at work. He now can see drops of blood, or know when a intersection light is green/red. (Texas horizontal intersection lights shouldnt be too hard now? He used to just go by going with the flow of traffic around him) Thank you, maker's of this product, to give the gift of a colorful world !

This was an interesting experience. The product is awful. But! I did considerably improve on a colorblind test. But those tests are about contrast between colors, not actually identifying the color. These glasses made purple look black and pink look gray. Everything was red and red became bright orange. I was able to improve on the tests but could no longer tell what any colors actually were, even the colors I'm not colorblind to. Just. Amazingly. Horrible. Product!
