Regardless of which top you use the liquid will come out.Initial review: I bought 2 for kids then ordered another for myself. It's a good size and keeps water cold and it takes about 8 hours for the ice to melt. I'm giving it 3 stars because on 2 of them, the top with a spout on it doesn't work properly and causes water to drop out and down your face. It seems the rubber seal piece isn't in correctly and slides up. It then gets caught and doesn't allow you to closed it all the way so water spills out even when it's closed.
