I ordered this book to find some simple craft kinds of things to do with adults for Chinese New Year. Although this book is geared towards people working with kids, there is interesting information in it that would also appeal to adults. Some of the crafts are also things that adults can enjoy doing.

If time is valuable, this is truly a great bargain. Children, and adults who love them, may spend countless hours of delighted accomplishment with "Lucky Bamboo Book of Crafts." Though the skill level varies, nearly every page offers an opportunity to create something amazing. Some projects are more challenging than others, but a little effort and ingenuity produce satisfying results. The material is obviously well-researched, focused on a culture we are all getting to know better. And the book's design -- for instance the icons for needed tools such as scissors, tape, etc. -- is exceptional.

Just for kids, with a lot help needed by adults. I returned my book after looking it over, most projects seem goofy.

They are 8 & 12 and have a very hands on Mom who encourages their creativity. This book is visually appealing, has meaningful cultural crafts and historical facts/maps and pictures galore that help tell the story of their birth country. There is very little the author didn't think of including providing inside cover pockets to store craft paper and easily traceable templates. Excellent well thought out format.

Wow..............this book is a WIN-WIN. Jennifer DeCristorforo has definitely succeeded in applying her diverse experience as an illustrator, teacher and designer in creating this book. Her connection and familiarity with the Chinese culture and her desire to share with her daughter is also touching.I was looking for a craft book that would be simple to follow and have unique ideas for children. I was very impressed with this book, as it was a wealth of interesting facts as well as so many fun activities. The book design itself is a work of art, as the cover is not only durable but spill resistant, thus able to withstand the test of spills..........which is important! There is even a sleeve to store the templates! The book is rich in creative projects, crafts and activities that can be enjoyed throughout the process of making the crafts and actually using them once made. The reproducible templates are great................knowing they are there for more opportunities to relive the experience. I also appreciated the information relating to China's history, culture, traditions and background as is adds to the overall educational experience in an interesting and relevant manner. The lessons are plentiful regarding Chinese traditions.This book is a source of inspiration on so many levels. The presentation is clear and easy.............another win/win to ensure success and more fun! I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in having fun activities to share as a family and encourage creativity and education in children. This is proof that crafts are fun and promote skills . With spring and summer breaks coming up............this is a winner for me and I am sure I will treasure it during the long cold days of winter!This is a timeless book! I am glad I found it. I will look for other books from this gifted author.

What a beautiful book! The layout is concise, logical and very easy to follow. A feast for the eyes and a cultural immersion experience ideal for anybody who wants to learn more about Chinese traditions. Educators, adoptive families, crafty people - all would enjoy diving into this book and letting their creativity soar. I haven't seen anything like this out there. Follow the illustrated step-by-step instructions to create culturally accurate and meaningful craft projects. Highly recommended!
