Clarks has been in business for over 100 years making very fine men's dress shoes in a variety of styles. Featuring a wide range of top-quality components, Clarks gives you the options you desire in the quality you demand. Review: Strong and comfy - A more wide shoe is exactly what was needed. The leather is supple and molds to your foot on the first wearing. Wearing the shoes all day and there have been no problems, seem sturdy enough too after a couple months when there have been shoes where the heel falls off after weeks. Review: Would buy again - They were initially a little narrow, but now they're much better after being broken in. Also, I noticed I was putting a lot of pressure on the ball of my feet with these shoes, but again that subsided after break-in. The leather on top wrinkles from walking and bending, but that's to be expected. Overall, they're pretty comfortable and have held up well.

Didn't fit, felt uncomfortable
Perhaps it was simply because the size was wrong. I normally wear 10.5 to 11 depending on style, often prefer 10.5 in EE size. These were comfortably wide enough, but enormously long and felt like there was a hard lump pressing up into the balls of my feet. Very uncomfortable. If I tried a smaller size, perhaps the fit and feel would be better, but I don't care to risk it. I will be returning these and looking for something else. The construction of the shoe seemed fine. Didn't observe any quality problems. Also at first glance the shoes appeared to be properly laced. When I began to put them on, I found that first one half of the shoe lace went through several consecutive lace holes (crossing back and forth) and the other half bypassed those, leapfrogging higher on the shoe and then going through several consecutive lace holes in its turn while the first half leapfrogged those holes. Both then ended appropriately in the last hole (on opposite sides) to allow them to be tied, but the shoes could only be loosened or tightened with great difficulty. I had to take them out completely and re-lace them in the traditional manner. I have never seen this before in a shoe. It's a minor point, but very puzzling to me.

Great Shoes With Only One Minor Annoyance
The shoes fit well and look good. My only beef is that the tongue is thin, which means I have to be careful not to push the tongue into the shoe whenever I slip my foot into it. It's a minor annoyance. As with many new shoes, I also recommend discarding the shoelaces that came with the shoes. The factory shoelaces are very thin and hard to keep tied in a bow throughout the day. Otherwise I'm very pleased with my new Clarks. I hope these last nine years like my previous pair!

He needs a wide shoe and I find Clarks has a nice selection of well made shoes
Order for my husband who is difficult to fit and please. He needs a wide shoe and I find Clarks has a nice selection of well made shoes. This shoe is stylish without looking like a military oxford. He wears the shoe often and says it is comfortable. Ordered his normal size.

These are very comfortable, but I don't think they're built to last
These are very comfortable, but I don't think they're built to last. They scuffed fairly easily, which is fixable, but they also tore in a spot which is pretty unacceptable considering that I don't wear them that often. I really want to like these shoes, they're comfortable and they look good, but when I buy something from Clarks I'm paying for shoes that I should be able to wear for more than a couple months. I'm disappointed because I know this shouldn't happen.

Great shoe, but...
I have had two pairs of Clarks before, and they always have fit perfectly with a 'broken in' feel right out of the gate. These are no exception. Ordering from Amazon is also typically $20 cheaper than buying them off the rack, so I'm happy with the purchase for sure. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is this pair- unlike the other two I've owned- lack the sole comfort I like given I'm on my feet (standing) in these 5 days/week for 6 hours per day. If you need a very good-looking, inexpensive, great-fitting shoe for the occasional dress event, get these! If you need a dress shoe for your every day job, you may want more support.
