I paid extra for the 1.5 liter bladder but haven't used it. The 2 flasks are perfect amount. You get just under 1 liter total between the 2 flasks. I'm 6' 200lbs and the XL is a good fit. They do run a bit on the small side. I ran 8.66 miles at the mountain today and couldn't be more satisfied with this race vest. Also makes you look like a complete BADASS! I definitely recommend this product! Review: Size up, to me it runs small. Not snug, SMALL. - I wanted to really like this vest. I even chased down an XL by ordering it from the UK since there was none in US stock. I'm disappointed to have dropped so much money on it and find it runs what I would say is EXTREMELY small given that I ordered an XL. Granted, I'm not a small runner at 5'10" 220 lbs. but I still average 30-35 miles a week. I run a mix of road and trail but I prefer trails. The 1.5L bladder probably could be bumped up to a 2L - either one you'd have to order separately. The soft flasks are nice but I would have thought they would fit a little better in the pockets - they seem too big until they are 3/4 full. There are loads of straps and elastics that I'm not really sure the purpose of - trekking poles maybe. Most tuck out of the way at least. The chest straps secure with a hook and loop that I didn't care for - they seemed much less secure than clasps. The space blanket included is nice but I wouldn't carry it unless I was planning for the longest and worst. I doubt it would fold back up too well. All in all, Salomon makes great stuff but I couldn't comfortably wear this in an XL - I'll have to stick with my XL Nathan vest which carries a 2L insulated bladder, soft flasks and packs as much if not more gear.
